I spent that night wondering the rooftops and searching for reprieve from my abyss of thoughts. Life used to be so simple... I had a handful of things to worry about and that was it. My biggest worry used to be when the next hunt will come or if I would win or lose my next wrestling bout with Nao.

But Nao is as dead as that simplicity.

I put my head in my hands. My body felt heavy with burdens. Thoughts of Nao caused further weight to settle on my shoulders. Thoughts of Sasuke caused further weight to settle in my chest. Breathing became strenuous and I groaned aloud.

Since when did the sheer act of living become so tiresome?

I hefted my head up to gaze at the night sky. The moon was darkened leaving only stars to guide our way. To be a star must be nice. Millions of miles away, twinkling down without a care, unbridled by petty emotions and happenings of this world.

"That's the life..." I muttered to myself. I reached out a hand uselessly. I wished, pitifully, to be just a little closer to that idealistic life.

"If you leave I'll... I'll scream!" hmm? That sounded like Sakura...

I wonder what she's doing out at this time of night? She didn't sound too far. Quickly I made my way towards the sound of her yell. It wasn't long before I found the pink girl lying passed out on a bench.

"What an odd place for a nap..." I spoke aloud. A rustle in the bushes caught my attention. I watched curiously as Sasuke emerged. "Why were you in the bushes?"

Wait a second... Sakura unconscious on the bench... Sasuke hiding wearing a backpack filled with essentials for a long trip... the middle of the night...

I gasped with realization.

"Are you and Sakura eloping?" my mouth popped open and a fire burned in my chest. The pain caused my eyes to water and I frowned. Is this sadness? Heartbreak? Or maybe I just have some really bad heartburn...

"Wh..." Sasuke started but cut himself off with a sigh and an eye roll. "No." he deadpanned. The heartburn suddenly stopped at his answer and I frowned feeling confused by both the halting of the sensation and his answer.

"So then why are you here?" I asked again with a small cock of the head as if a curious puppy. Sasuke raised an eyebrow at me as he gestured towards his backpack. He waited for me to put the pieces together myself but when I didn't he sighed again and answered.

"I'm leaving the village." He straightened his shoulders, steeling himself against any rebuttal I might have for his actions.

"Ok." I nodded. "Why?" Sasuke starred at me with an odd look on his face.

"Miyu... you're not concerned about this? You're not going to try and stop me?" he practically spluttered. I shrugged my shoulders carelessly.

"Nah, I leave the village all the time. I technically didn't even grow up in the village because of the whole 5 years a wolf thing. Plus I think Lee's whole team does all of their training outside of the village. It's not like its uncommon to leave, we're not prisoners." I explained to him casually.

Sasuke glanced away seeming unsure and slightly guilty. He nodded silently to me and began to walk slowly towards the gate. I walked beside him amicably. We walked in silence for some time. The air felt stiff with unsaid words and I wondered if Sasuke would tell me what's on his mind or if he would, once again, leave me guessing. Once we could no longer see Sakura in the distance we halted. I didn't really understand what was happening, but decided to follow Sasuke's lead since he seemed like he was going through some stuff.
