"Miyu." Sasuke spoke from the kitchen.
"Give me a second!" I called back knowing he wouldn't hear me if I didn't yell. I was currently still in my room packing my bags for the exam. I had no idea what I would need so I was freaking out a little.
In preparation for a big fight, I wore clothes specifically for functionality. I wore a pair of white capris pants that were tight enough to not get in my way and hug my legs. Bandages covered my ankle weights.
I wore a hip and leg weapons pouch, just in case one of them ran out. On top of that I wore a halter tank top that showcased the Uchiha clan symbol over the back. I also wore white arm warmers over my arm weights similar to Sasuke's.
I always thought his arm warmers looked cool... but don't tell him I said that.
I packed my weapons pouch with anything I could think of. From wires to soldier pills I had just about every ninja weapon in my arsenal. Yet I still felt unprepared.
"Let's go already. We're going to be late." Sasuke grumbled. I glanced up from the mess on my floor where my weapons were scattered to see Sasuke coolly leaning against my doorframe.
"Do you ever clean in here?" he asked while making a face at my cluttered room. I scowled at him.
"It's usually clean. I'm just making sure I have everything." I muttered back with a pout. I threw the last of my kunai into my hip pouch and stood.
"Finally, are you ready to go?" I shook my head at him and turned to a small mirror I had hanging on my wall facing the doorway.
"One last thing." I grabbed two rubber bands and tied my hair into low twin-tails. My bangs had gotten long and hung in my face, but they were too short to tie up, so I had to deal with the shaggy look.
"Girls take forever." Sasuke scoffed at me, "why don't you just cut it off? Long hair could be a hazard on the battle field." I turned towards Sasuke and we both started walking off to the exam.
"You know, when I was a kid I hated my hair." I shared randomly. Sasuke glanced at me in interest. It was rare that I shared any facts about myself with my peers, so any stories were new knowledge to Sasuke.
"Why?" he asked. I smirked at his slip up.
Be carful asking questions, Sasuke. People might start to think you care.
"Sasuke, I'm an Uchiha. What's the one thing that makes me stand out more than anything else?" he nodded in understanding.
"Your white hair was a light in the sea of Uchiha blackness." A gentle smile graced my features. Who knew Sasuke could be so poetic? I guess there's a lot more going on in that silent head of his than I originally thought.
"I like that analogy. Yes, my hair made me stick out in the clan. A lot of people picked on me, you know. I was, am, an Uchiha outcast." I lamented.
"You could've come to me. Injustice isn't tolerated, not among clan members." He seemed to pause. I figured it was hard to talk about our past clan.
"My mother loved my hair. It's the same color as hers. My father was the one who bore the Uchiha name." I explained. We paused before rounding a corner that would expose us to our teammates.
I think Sasuke understood how hard it was for me to share parts of myself. After all, it was hard for him, too. I guess that's why it's easier to share myself with Sasuke. We're too similar on too many levels.
"I think it helps me feel close to her." I thought aloud. Sasuke listened silently and regarded my long white hair. We stood in silence for a moment.
