Sara- (the following day)

"If you miss another session it will look bad." My phone vibrates with a text from Harry as I'm looking over papers from Mr. Sterling.

"I'll be there, don't worry." I reply quickly and set my phone down.

"I'll always worry about you love." Harry replies and my heart flutters.

Fuck life, seriously just when things are going well everything falls apart.

"Are you alright? You seem to be down lately, I heard about Harry and Lottie. I'm sorry." My phone lights up with a text from Nathan and I mentally roll my eyes.

"Bet you're thrilled, there's probably a chance it's yours anyways." I type furiously and Nathan lets out a sigh.

"Nathan is there an issue?" Mr. Sterling asks with a huff.

"Have you ever been in love Mr Sterling?" Nathan asks as he looks at me.

"Yes I have but why do you ask?"

"Ok so say a guy fucked up." Nathan starts and Mr. Sterling eyes him for his language. "Shit sorry, he messed up ok? He really likes this girl though and she think's he's the worst human on earth."

"Why would she think that Mr. St James?" He muses as he glances at me and I put my head down.

"Because I... I mean he slept with her now ex-boyfriend's ex- girlfriend. Well they were together at the time and she cheated on him with me.. er I mean him. So now the girl thinks he's a fuckboy and won't give him the time of day." Nathan confesses and the class laughs, I soften a bit at the fact that he's facing humiliation and embarrassment just to make a point to me.

"I think that she may be wise in staying away from your friend Nathan, sounds like he'll just cause her more unnecessary heartache. It sounds that this girl has a good head on her shoulders, your friend may not be good enough for her." Mr. Sterling muses before tossing me a wink as the bell rings.

"Self-defense classes? Must of been a bad breakup." Mr. Sterling asks as he comes around and behind me.

"I'm just tired of being seen as some weak girl that can't take care of herself." I sigh as I shut my Chromebook before slipping it into my backpack.

"That's not how I see you Sara." He says softly as I stand up.

"And how do you see me Ian?" I challenge, where the fuck did this rush of confidence  come from? His eyes crinkle as he smiles at me.

"I see a strong woman that's lived through more then people three times her age, I see a woman who is brave enough to admit that she needs help." He says motioning to my backpack. "I teach a women's self defense class every Wednesday, you should come and check it out." He adds handing me a card to the gym Harry had taken me to.

"Really?"

"My sister was raped and murdered while we were in high school, I was a senior and her a sophomore. I blamed myself for not protecting her so this is my way of remembering her, maybe this way I can help someone escape her fate." He says sorrowfully and my heart falls. "My cell number is on that card, let me know if you ever need anything alright?" He says squeezing my shoulder.

"Thank you, I'll see you tomorrow." I reply, not knowing what to say. I leave in silence and make my way to Harry's office as the bell rings.

"You're late."
