CHAPTER 17 | The king for a reason. Part 2.

"You have no idea of what you've done Cloud. I don't think this family will be able to save you this time," Saanti sighed softly tilting my face to look at him.

Thing was I didn't want to be saved this time. Gabriel gave me the choice and I decided on my own for my unborn baby and for our future. I made the right choice yet I now sat with cuffs strapped to my wrists and I sat in Lucas's office. However Lucas wasn't in here, Saanti explained to me he had to decide what to do with me without Lucas being biased.

"The council will soon hear about this no doubt and have you executed. If we are lucky they will agree to wait until after the child is born as they will be the heir after Lucifer," he informed.

"They care that I have more power now and not about the war that is coming?" I snapped outraged.

So here my child is threatened by a war but they are more worried about me trying to get strength for the sake of my family. It was an outrage. I'd slaughter everyone who threatened my family.

"Cloud I understand how you feel however hell has been dealing with wars since the beginning. However, you are now a rotting angel blood Cloud. Not accepted by angels nor demons now. You have damned yourself as an outcast for power. Down here rotting angel bloods are damned to be executed," he spoke calmly and with caution.

"Then do it," I was tired of all this talk.

"Dealing with rotting angel blood is not that simple. Everyone will be after you now and you don't know how to take care of your new power. Right now you need to stay here in this room. I will send Kit to watch you, you need to stay here. It's not safe anywhere else," he ordered sharply.

I ignored him and Kit walked in with all her blue glowing skin and he briskly left. Silence filled the room around us and the door slammed. I looked over at Kit who stared steadily at the floor. I suddenly felt like the biggest asshole. How many people have I betrayed by killing Gabriel?

"I'm sorry."

She looked at me in surprise and despite the shame I felt, I kept eye contact with her.

"Cloud do you have any idea what you've done?" she asked softly.

I nodded and then lowered my gaze. I've been told that so many times and I understood it was illegal and all that shit. Gabriel was my father but as selfish as it was I needed to do this. There was danger coming and I had so many things to lose. I had to be strong.

A knock on the door made Kit look over at it then frown before she disappeared. I watched blankly as I could hear her scolding someone on the other side of the door. I rolled my eyes when the door was thrown open and a very angry Lucas stormed through.

"Don't ever keep me out of my fucking office," he snarled at Saanti who trailed behind him.

Lucas froze when he saw me then his eyes glazed over with pure rage. I bit my lip nervously.

"Explain to me why you would do something so fucking stupid," he hissed.

"Because we need to be strong enough to fucking give our child a fucking future in this world. Because my father an angel told me in order to survive what was to come I'd need his power," I retorted quietly.

"Gabriel told you that?" he sounded shocked.

I nodded looking up at him. The rage disappeared and his face became guarded.

"You're a fucking idiot but you are still my wife and the mother of my child. You won't be hunted," he muttered looking over at Saanti.

Saanti didn't say anything, just stared back at his son.

"Make up your mind," Lucas told him.

It was clear the two were having in internal conversation and I looked over at Kit who was back to staring at the floor. The room was silent as the king and prince figured their shit out and I looked at the window noticing something strange. My eyes widened as my jaw dropped open. It was impossible.

My legs moved to push me up and I walked over to the window.

"Cloud–," Kit's voice was cut off by her own jaw dropping and a hand caught me before I made it all the way to the window.

"Kit take Cloud to the dungeon and hid her. Now." Saanti's order was sharp and suddenly I was being grabbed and the world around me disappeared into a cloud of blue smoke.

I didn't understand why or how but I knew one thing. That was surely a sign that something was happening. We stepped into the darkness of the dungeon and I looked at Kit.

"Come, we have to hide you," she spoke fearfully.

"Kit," I said still in shock, she looked over at me with fear clear on her face and I gulped down a mouthful of air. The image of what was outside was stained in my memory. Clear in the blue sky hung in a glowing light was an image of the sun.

The sun in the sunless Hell.
