Chapter 36 | The White Queen's Final Act.

I think, I fell slowly. I could see the world rushing towards me. And I saw those I loved too – I could see Lucifer swinging a beautiful sword of silver against Daniel's creations, and I could Lithan, and Saanti, and Elliot, Elizabeth and Valor. Even the remaining council members were fighting against those things that threatened to destroy hell.

Lucifer was cry, screaming. No, they weren't fighting for hell, they were fighting for me. Arms caught me before I splattered and I let out a grunt to look up. Calum smirked down at me.

"Aye, you're going to get me fired before you even fight?" he chuckled.

A tortured scream made me flinch. A naked woman, with black veins and a distorted body lunched at us. Calum grunted, moving me to pull out a cute little glock and shot her right in the head. She stumbled but didn't fall. A dagger flew through the sky, cutting her head clean off.

"I don't know what you're doing but get her the fuck out of here," Irone snarled jumping from the body of another, to land in front of us.

"Cloud, she's right. Stop delaying and go after the leader," Calum nodded letting me go with a little shove.

"That's not what I meant," Irone hissed.

But I was already moving. Through the swarm of things and towards Daniel's stolen throne. However, I didn't need to fight much as Irone and Calum stuck to my sides like glue. It was beautiful to see Irone move with skilled skittishness hopping from monster to monster, her claws dancing gracefully. Calum was quite different, moving like silent silk with his blade.

Finally at the foot of the platform I hesitated to take a deep breath. Then, I moved, to stand in front of the man who used to be my brother. He grinned, his veins seemed to be pushing tar through his greying body. This power he craved so desperately was killing him. I swallowed harshly. It didn't matter, today he would fall to me.

Welcome sister. Are you ready to die?

I snickered, resting my hand over my belly.

"If you're going to speak, do it with your lips not your mind. Or are you a coward now?" I retorted with narrowed eyes.

The mood changed, gone was his care free demeanour, and his smile. He stood, lashing his fucked up glory outwards. It shattered the chair, and the air around us tightened. However, with my own rising glory, it was nothing towards me but a gust of wind.

I breathed out calming my heart. I could do this, I just needed to stay on the defence. Calum and Irone were right. But I wasn't worried, Daniel was beyond reason – he was like the wrathful Lernaean himself and I would be Hercules. But a prettier, and more pregnant version I assumed. I snickered at that.

"You fucking bitch, you really want to mock me?" he snarled stalking forward, until he was inches away from me.

I didn't dare move, I would not give him any dominance over me. I could feel his glory coming off him in waves, but it was morphed into something that oozed darkness and evil. I don't know what demon blood he was suckling from to get this but it was wrong, and should have never existed.

"People mock fools. I'm regarding a child who never grew up," I replied.

He screamed, lunging at me; his fingers wrapping around my throat. My eyes widened, he moved faster than I could react. My air supply was cut short, and so I unleashed my glory. Instead of pushing him back, all it did is run cuts over his chest. Black blood ran down his skin. I was defenseless against him.

"You know, you scared me last time. You truly are as strong as our mother, however our father? Oh sister, he was one of the original fallen, he is much stronger," he laughed darkly.

A breeze blew towards us, and our eyes looked over to where a figure stood. Black wings out in beautiful angel armor. Had Abaddon stepped into save me? No, he wouldn't dare. Gold eyes crackled with a pure, controlled rage as I realized who had arrived.

Power crackled around the man, splitting around us. Trapping the entire platform into a dark, warm mist. I had never seen such power. Daniel's fingers shivered around my throat. Both of us watched him in fear. Gold eyes glistened dangerously.

"Get your hand off my wife."

Instantly, his hand was gone and I gasped in air. Daniel backed up. I looked over to Lucifer, my demon in angel armor, and he ever so calmly walked over to me, his eyes locked on Daniel.

"So what, you can fight your own battles Cloud?" Daniel purred.

I could hear the fear behind his words. Lucifer stopped at my side, then grinned like a Cheshire cat. I shivered, and my husband wrapped a hand around my waist tightly. He was warning me to stay put.

"Do not speak to my wife, do not look at her," Lucifer paused, Daniel backed up some more, "in fact in the presences of the queen scum like you should kneel."

The moment the command left his lips, Daniel's knees seemed to buckle. He cried out as he fell to the ground. I had never seen Lucifer look so dangerous. Daniel laughed harshly. Tears dripped grey down his face.

"So what, you're going to have your goon kill me?" He snarled.

Lucifer chuckled darkly, "No. This is Cloud's fate. She will do it however, considering you had assistance from your filth of a father, it seems fair Cloud has her own assistance. The fight is over, you have lost. Now take the punishment."

My heart pounded wildly, and Lucifer's hand left my hip. Suddenly, Lucifer's power was gone and Daniel struggled to stand again. The mist cleared and I looked around dizzily. He spoke true, the only members that stood were our own – injured but alive. Everyone was alive.

My lips twitched and I sighed with relief.

"You're just a fucking bitch," Daniel snarled his eyes darting around.

He was realizing he was losing. Blood started to drip from his nose and I realized the demon blood inside him was starting to take a toll. He was nothing now, my brother had died long ago – this was merely a reanimation of a monster.

I cleared my mind and took a deep breath before opening my eyes and letting my full glory lose. My wings sprang free and I held out my hand where my glory bloomed into a perfect little butterfly. Breathing out gently it fluttered towards Daniel.

As it did I spoke, "Daniel Azul, for your treason, betrayal, multiple accounts of murder, and the abuse of demon blood I sentence you to death. Your very existence is an abomination there is no other way."

He opened his mouth to respond, but my butterfly landed softly onto his forehead. He looked up at it and it flattened its wings against his forehead. Then, it dissolved fading into his forehead as gold, taking away the darkness in his body and finally, his body began to turn to ash.

"S-sister I..," he began but I shook my head.

I held back tears, and refused to hear the dying words of my brother. He nodded, then smiled once as he finally faded in the wind.

I'm sorry Cloud.

A sob broke through my throat as my knees gave out. Strong arms caught me, as I sobbed. Overhead the clouds began to clear. I sobbed and sobbed, as the platform began to crumble, and I sobbed as Lucas picked me up into his arms.

"I'm sorry," I cried onto his shoulder.

Warmth gushed between my legs, and I gasped with my eyes widening. Did the fighting get to the baby? I clenched my fingers onto his shirt and moaned deeply in pain.

"Shit, shit hold on," Lucas stammered spinning around looking for someone, "Kit? Kit!"

Another wave of pain hit my lower stomach and I groaned, grabbing his hair with one hand and pulling. He cursed as it occurred to me: I was about to give birth. I gasped putting my hand on my stomach, making Lucas stumble slightly to get a better hold on me. I was about to be a mother. My baby was finally going to be born.
