Audrey
We arrived to my small apartment and I carefully led Nathan up the stairs.
It's around 2:35 AM, so Deidra is asleep by now.
"I'll get you some stuff for a shower, do you mind waiting here?" I asked Nathan, who was observing the space around him.
He shook his head no, and I quickly retrieved what he needed. A towel, a wash cloth, his own bar of soap..because he sure as hell ain't using mine, and a toothbrush. I brought it to him in a neat little stack and he took it from my hands, thanking me.
"I uh have one of Deidra's ex boyfriends shirts you can wear, I'll wash your clothes if you'd like."
"Oh um..thanks."
"No problem. Soooo yeah. My place isn't really the greatest, so there's only two rooms. You'll have to sleep on the couch."
He nodded his head, understanding me. He's rather quiet, I thought to myself.
"Ok, the bathroom is down the hall. Let me know if you need something."
Nathan "Menace"
She walked back to her room, and I entered her bathroom. It's been ages since I'd even been inside a place like this, I wasn't used to the tiny atmosphere.
I appreciate this girl's hospitality, but I didn't trust it. Why is she letting me stay here for the night? What are her intentions? What if she's been a fan this whole time?
While I'm her bathroom I decided to snoop around, opening her medicine cabinet and the one under the sink.
Aspirin, eye drops, mouthwash, deodorant, Nothing incriminating. But I still knew to watch my back.
I took off Graham's gym clothes and slipped into the shower.
-
When I finished put on the shirt Audrey gave me, and Graham's shorts back on. I can't believe that nigga left me for dead, it didn't matter how fucked up I was, you don't do that to your "friend." Dickhead.
Graham started off as just my producer, but we eventually became friends from spending so much time together. I like to think that if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be where I am with my career. Now all I can think about is, if it wasn't for him..I wouldn't be in this random girl's house at 3 in the morning.
I stepped out of the bathroom and I was met with a girl..who wasn't Audrey. She was in pajamas and apparently got a glass of water and didn't know I was here. That would explain the shriek she let out when she saw me.
"Who the hell are you?!"
"I'm..Nathan. Audrey's letting me stay here for the night."
"Are you two..together?"
"No, she just found me outside and she wants to help me get home, she's a really nice person-"
"I know." She interrupted me. Rude ass bitch.
Instead of responding I stared at her, and she stared back unintimidated. I'm not used to people treating me like a regular person like this.
"Where are you sleeping?" She asked looking me up and down.
"Couch."
She stared at me for a few more seconds and walked down her hall, opened the linen closet and tossed me a blanket.
"If you rob us I'll kill you."
I was tempted to say I could buy you and your little apartment, but I stayed quiet and nodded my head.
"Alright." She said turning off the light and going back into room. That must be Deidra.
Audrey
I woke up around 7. I briefly went over last night's events in my mind and I remembered that there was still a stranger in my living room.
Deidra had already left class, meaning they'd already had some type of encounter. I really hope she didn't get the wrong idea.
I went into my bathroom, took a shower, brushed my teeth, and threw on some clothes.
—
I nervously entered my living room, oh where Nathan was awake on the couch, staring at nothing.
"Good morning." I startled him.
"Morning." He said briefly looking at me, then turning away.
"Uh have you remembered anything from last night? Can you call someone?"
"Yeah I can call my friend..but I don't have my phone."
"That's alright, you can use mine." I told him, handing him my phone from my sweatpants pocket.
He dialed his friend's number, and it was impossible not to eavesdrop. He spoke to the guy as if he had authority over him, it was weird.
"That's no excuse Graham! You should see where I am right now." He yelled to the person he was speaking to.
What's that supposed to mean?
"Yeah whatever. Just pick me up from the coffee shop on Brooke Ave. I'll be waiting there...alright."
When he's not super tired and half passing out..he's kind of a dick. I almost regret even bringing him here.
When he hung up he handed me my phone back, and thanked me for letting him use it.
"Do you need me to take you to meet your friend?"
His eyes glanced over me for a moment. "Nah."
Nathan "Menace"
Looks like I'll be walking to the coffee shop. But it's worth it, Audrey is cute..but I can't be seen with her. She cleans tables for a living, not to mention her raggedy clothes. I don't blame her for offering, she thinks I'm like her.
She said goodbye to me one last time, and I thanked her for letting me stay with her..but at last, it's time to go.
I figured when Graham picked me up then I'd go back to my place, throw out all of Danielle's shit, then begin my new life as a single man.
—
When I left I didn't bother giving back the shirt Audrey gave me, and I tried my best to lay low as I walked to the coffee shop that I told Graham to pick me up at.
I walked in and ordered a small black coffee and took a seat at a table.
After about fifteen minutes of waiting Graham arrived, glanced at me then laughed.
"Nigga what is funny?" I said standing up from the table I was sitting at.
"You look a mess."
"Whatever. Take me home dick face." I said pushing the door to the coffee shop open and storming out.
"Where'd you go last night?" He asked following behind me.
"A girl found me and brought to her crib."
"Did you hit?"Graham asked, with a smirk on his face.
"Fuck no, she worked inside the club and she was just trying to help...plus she's not really my type."
"She was ugly?"
"Nope, she was broke."
a/n:
"I can make a broke bitch rich..but I don't fuck w/ broke bitches" 😂
Nathan kind of an asshole, huh? What y'all think of Graham?
