Audrey

I practically ran out of his apartment, I had no idea what to say or do. I never would have thought, Sam out of all people would try to do something like this.

When I got outside I began pacing; my anxiety was getting the best of me and I couldn't figure out how to fight it. I took out my phone and called Deidra.

"Hello?" She said quietly.

"Deidra..I..i can't believe what just happened..I-"

"Audrey I'm in class, make this quick!"

"Could you come and get me? I'm at-"

"I can't. I just told you I'm in the middle of class!" She said, still in the quiet voice.

No matter how much I begged she assured me I'd be fine, before eventually she hung up.

I rummaged through my purse and counted the money I had. 24 dollars.

That wouldn't cover an Uber from here all the way across town to my apartment. Of course, this was the one day I'd left my wallet at home, thinking I'd just go to the meeting and back home. How could I be such an idiot?

A cold feeling came over me. Those times Sam left the club we worked at with drunk girls..he didn't..did he?

I began to grow more anxious. Who knows when Sam will be awake? I have to leave.

I decided on my last resort and called Nathan. Even if I was pissed at him, I needed a ride.

After a few rings, he answered.

"Are you finally over that petty shit?"

"Nathan so much shit just happened..can you maybe send a car to me? I'll pay you back I promise."

"Woah woah what happened to you? Are you alright?" He asked sounding a little worried.

"I'm fine..I just need a ride."

"I'm sending Shonda. Where are you at?"

"I'll send you the location."

"Cool...And uh Audrey, again I'm really sorry about how I acted earlier today-"

"It's okay Nathan. I'll talk to you later." I said before hanging up. I don't feel like hearing that right now.

Nathan

"So you want me to go to this random ass house to pick up this girl who ain't even yours?"

"Shonda. As long as I'm paying you, you go wherever I tell you. Go get her and bring her back here. I'm worried about her."

"Alright..Mr. Sassy. I'm on my way there. See you when I get there."

"Cool." I said before hanging up the phone.

I was getting that feeling. Shortness of breath, nausea, headache..it felt like my world was spinning. I used to get this feeling before big shows, or before an album release. Now it was happening after talking to Audrey. I didn't understand.

Times like this I'd smoke a blunt or something...but I'm supposed to be on that sober bullshit.

I don't know why I'd get the feeling, I just know I don't like it.

-

I paced around my house for a half an hour, waiting to hear a car pull up. It seemed like forever, but eventually my phone rang, Shonda.

I didn't bother answering and I went outside, to see the black car pulled up.

Shonda rolled down her window and stuck had head out.

"She's mad as hell..what did you do?"

Before I could ask why Audrey got out the car, heated.

"Why did you tell her to bring me here?"

"We need to have a conversation."

"Phones exist!"

"Audrey..please. Come inside with me?"

She mumbled something and followed me inside. I took a seat on my couch and she reluctantly did the same.

"First off, what happened to you earlier?"

She rubbed her face and sighed.

"After you left me, I called a friend to pick me up. We went out to eat, went to his house..I felt really uncomfortable and needed to leave."

"Really? That's it?"

"Yes.."

She wasn't being honest. But I wasn't gonna grill her.

"Does this friend happen to know where you stay?" I asked.

"Why?"

"Safety hazard..what exactly did he do to make you uncomfortable?" I asked. Can't have crazy niggas knowing her address. Now that's a death wish.

She tried to explain something, but tripped and stumbled over her words. Her eyes grew red and she covered her face.

"I..I don't want to talk about it." She said with a few tears falling down.

"Audrey. Did he hurt you?"

"No."

"Did he make you feel unsafe?"

I looked at her hands, they were shaking like crazy. She was tired of talking about this.

"Yes..he did."

"Ok. Well you have to get you out of that apartment then."

She looked up at me like I was insane.

"What? I can't afford to just leave my apartment! I'm not a rich rapper like you, I can't up and leave whenever something happens-"

"But you're my assistant. My much needed assistant, and I'm sorry but I can't have you keep putting yourself in danger. You're moving into the guest room, at least for now."

"Wait..what?"

Deidra

Hours had passed since that random ass call from Audrey. I'd been home watching TV for a while before I heard knocking on the front door. I rolled my eyes, Audrey has a key. Why does she insist on knocking on the door?

It's either her or the creepy ass landlord.

I opened the door and was met with a familiar face. One of Audrey's friends.

"She's not home." I told him with my arms crossed.

"Sure she isn't. She hasn't been answering my calls, and she doesn't go out anywhere. She's either here..or.."

"Well she asked me to pick her up from somewhere earlier, I guess she asked someone else. But she's not here..so you need to leave." I said attempting to close the door, but his foot stopped it.

"You sure she's not here?"

"Yes! Fucking weirdo." I said slamming the door.

When did guys become interested in her?
