also that last chapter had some of y'all MADT

Nathan "Menace"

"Adirra calm down, it's my fault. I'm the one who wanted to keep us a secret." I told the girl. Why is she so angry? I get Audrey wasn't honest but it doesn't make much of a difference to her..

"My issue is with Audrey. Lying to me and Bea's face! But Menace come on...what do you possibly see in her?"

"Ok you know what-"

"Audrey relax. Go in the room." I said grabbing her wrist. If I let go she'd probably end up hitting this girl.

"This lil girl-"

"Drey. Go in the room."

She cursed under her breath and left the kitchen, entering the guest room in the back.

"Now Adirra...dear...what seems to be making you so angry?" I took a soft, light hearted approach. This girl seems to have a few lose screws.

"It's Audrey! She literally just told Beatrice that she was only working for you, then I come in the kitchen and she's all on you-"

"I was all on her. And the reason she lied is because of me, no reason to get angry at her. Get angry at me."

"I can't get angry at you! You're you..."

"Then I have another solution. Take a deep breath. Let it go. Go to sleep. Act like this never happened?"

She took a deep breath, before sighing.

"Okay.."

"We good?"

"I guess so.."

"Aight. This never happened, and you're dreaming right now, go back to bed-"

"Wait. Under one condition?"

"What would that be?"

"Concert tickets...?"

At this point, anything to get this girl to go back in her room.

"I can work something out."

"Okay." She said turning around, skipping back to her room. Something ain't right with her.

-

I went back into the guest room with Audrey, closing the door behind me.

"I got it under control." I told her, taking a seat on the bed next to her.

"That girl is testing my patience Nathan." She said, slipping on the mulberry silk bonnet I'd bought her.

"I know..but it's taken care of. Don't worry-"

"I just don't get why she was mad? Like..what difference does it make if we're together? She didn't have a chance anyway."

"It's the principle, I guess."

She looked at me for a second and laughed.

"Ty has really been rubbing off on you." She said getting fully under the covers.

"Woahh, pause."

-

Audrey

"Drey." Nathan mumbled.

We'd been trying to go to sleep for an hour, but a random clash of thunder woke us up each time. It was around 2 AM, when we'd finally decided to say fuck sleep, and wait for the storm to pass.

"Yeah?" I responded, with the only light in the room being from my phone.

"What phase is this?"

"Phase?"

"Yeah..like when you signed that contract? We started phase one, then phase two, then you didn't mention them. What phase are we in now?"

"I don't know, considering you started your sobriety counter all the way over when you got drunk at that party with the guys."

"I was drinking so I wouldn't beat Bryshere's ass."

"Either way. You were drinking, I wouldn't say it was a major set-back, considering you've made a lot of progress. No drugs. That's good, right?"

"Yeah.." he said. There was a tint of sadness in his voice, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"You alright?"

"Yeah..I'm just thinking. How reluctant you were to work with me..because you don't like the spot light. I've just been pondering in my head....will we ever be public with this? Like..how can we grow if we have to sneak around as a couple?"

"Nathan of course we'll be public one day. I just need a chance to get used to all this. You know?"

"How can you get used to it if you're always hiding?

"What has you thinking like this?"

"I don't know...nothing..." he mumbled, almost to the point where I couldn't understand him.

"Nathan. Don't do that. Tell me."

"Mmmmmnooo...." He placed his hands on his face, seemingly embarrassed.

"Use your words Nathaniel."

"I usually don't say shit like this, but Audrey I..really feel strongly about you. Everyday I feel more and more for you. I'm freaking myself out because I'm not built for this. I'm scared I might..I- never mind. I sound stupid as hell right now."

"It's not stupid to tell me how you feel-"

"I'm going to sleep, Drey."
