Quinze / Cousin

Audrey

Samuel texted me, letting me know he was pulling up outside.

I rushed out the building I was left in, swiftly getting in the passengers seat.

"Where's M-"

"Don't." I interrupted him.

"Alright..you doing okay? What you wanna eat?"

"Chinese." I said sighing.

"Chinese it is. I'm sorry your day isn't going so great..I promise I'll make it better. After we eat we can do whatever you want to since we- well I don't have to work until later tonight."

"Thanks, Sam."

It made me chuckle, he's actually trying.

"No problem. I can tell you're a little annoyed..we should drink."

"That don't sound bad at all."

"Oh for real? Cool...how'd the meeting go?"

"Fine at first, I met someone pretty awesome. Things kind of spiraled downward when we were leaving, I'm glad I have my job, but I lost a friend I guess."

Nathan "Menace"

On the way home I felt a little bad about Audrey, but the way she was geeking over Sampson was frustrating me.

But damn.

After all she's helped me.

I couldn't fuck her over like that.

I pulled out my phone and called her back. She answered quietly.

"Yes?"

"Hey Drey, I'm sorry for talking to you kind that, truth is I was kind of jeal-"

"Did you need something, sir?"

"Sir? Audrey cut all of that out."

"It's business from now on. I'm just an assistant, that way there's no more drama between us. Now sir, do you need something?"

I rolled my eyes.

"No, I'll call you if I do. Bye.."

She didn't say anything else and hung up. I was so frustrated I hadn't even realized I was already sitting outside my house and my driver was waiting for me to get out.

"Have a good one." I said finally getting out and walking up to my front door.

I entered the code and the door unlocked. As soon as I walked in I noticed a pair of Jordans at the bottom of the stairs. Glancing at the unfamiliar shoe I bolted up the stairs looking for Danielle.

"Danielle!" I yelled opening each door.

Finally I reached my room where Danielle was asleep and some guy was on the bed playing my PlayStation.

"Who the fuck are you?"

"Menace! Big fan bro-"

"Who the hell are you and why are you in my house?"

"Relax bro..I'm Danielle's cousin. We were just hanging out."

I'm not buying this. Can't bullshit a bullshitter.

"Danielle!" I yelled, causing her to jolt awake.

"Nathan! What are you doing home? I thought you had a meeting..."

"Yeah I did, but fuck all that who is this you got in my room?"

"Oh that's my brother, Zay."

"Your brother?"

"Mhm." She nodded her head.

"You're positive?"

"Yes Nathan." She said annoyed.

"Just making sure. Both of y'all get the hell out before I spazz, he just told me he's your cousin, now that's your brother? Y'all look nothing alike with your lying asses, can't even keep up with your own lie." I said trying to keep my cool.

I need a blunt.

"I said cousin? Man I meant brother." The dude interjected.

"Oh you meant brother? What's you and her mom's name?"

"Uh...Sh- Ma- oh uh Janice?"

"That's what I thought. Danielle, go. 'Cousin' nigga, you go too before I beat your ass for touching my PlayStation."

Deep down I knew Danielle was fucking around, I wasn't even mad. I don't love that girl. My PlayStation on the other hand..

"Nathan can we talk just for a second?"

"Go!" I said getting agitated.

She kissed her teeth and grabbed her stuff of the nightstand, leaving my room.

I need to stop worrying about girls.

I got a career to maintain, I have shows to do next month, songs to make, events to attend. Other rappers just fuck a bunch of girls and live their life. That's what I should've been doing this whole time.

Audrey

We entered the Chinese place, which was pretty empty. He told me to take a seat while he ordered, so that's what I did.

Soon he sat down with me, while we waited for our food.

"Thanks for doing this Sam."

"It's no problem, you know I got you. After this we can grab a few drinks and see where the day takes us."

"And where do you think that'll be?"

"Well I guess we'll find out, won't we?" He responded vaguely.

"I guess we will." I chuckled.

I had an idea of what his intentions were, and I just might give in.
