"What are you afraid of Drey? You've been working at the club for 6 months."
"I've never worked this late!" I yelled to Deidra who I was talking to on the phone, on my way to work.
"What's there at 2 that's not there at 12? You're being so ridiculous."
"B-but there's a big party happening tonight, with famous people! I bet it's going to be packed..why did I tell Sam I would do this for him?"
"Boohoo. You're acting like a baby, boss up and work the night."
"I'm gonna pretend your lame ass didn't just say 'boss up' and go ahead inside." I said, pulling up to my job.
"Ok ok. Good luck, even though you won't need it." She said chuckling, then hanging up.
I took a deep breath and got out of my car. This shift begins at 9, and ends at 2, meaning it was already dark. I nervously entered the club through the back door and clocked in as Sam.
Apparently this big party had already started because the club was completely filled, and loud trap music blared through the speakers.
Just clean the tables, and don't think about it.
"Audrey? What are you doing working this shift?" My coworker, Taylor asked. She used to work with me doing the earlier shift, but she changed her schedule a few weeks ago.
"Oh I'm covering Sam's shift." I said putting on my apron.
"Ooh you're brave, Sam closes the place up."
"Wait..what?"
"Well Sam is in the charge of the key on Saturdays. I guess since he's not here, and you're covering for him, you're closing the club." She said tossing me a set of a couple keys.
I was so stupid to agree to this.
"Oh gosh." I mumbled under my breath.
"Don't stress out about it, it isn't that bad. You just have to make sure there's no drunk weirdos still lingering in the club before you close it. That's how Ashley got-....AHHH!!! It's him!"
"What happened to Ashley?! Wait who? What happened?"
"Menace!!! My baby daddy! He's here Audrey!" She said jumping up and down. I tried to stand on my tippy toes to see who this guy was, but all his friends were in my way.
Oh well.
Nathan "Menace"
The party had just began, but everyone was having way more fun that I was. No matter how many shots I took I didn't feel any better, I couldn't stop thinking about Danielle, and how I'm leaving her behind.
I took down another shot, trying to make myself forget about it. The last thing I remember was around me was dancing and laughing, I began to feel dizzy and everything went black.

When my vision returned, I was on the sidewalk outside the club. Graham was tossing water on my face, and I had a completely different outfit on.
"What the hell happened?" I asked him, still soaking wet.
"What do you mean what happened?! You went apeshit crazy in the club, threw up on your clothes, then passed out."
"Can we go back to the party?" I said rubbing my head that was pounding in intense pain.
"Nigga the party's over! The club is closing any minute, get in the car!"
