Audrey
"You ready?" Nathan said with his arms around my waist.
"Come on Nathan. I'm tired of waiting out here."
"Okay. Close your eyes." He told me as he typed in the code.
His effort at being romantic was adorable. After leaving the library, getting something to eat, and walking around all day, the sun went down. He decided this'd be the time to take us home, and finally unveil his big "surprise".
It was clear romance wasn't his thing, but I didn't mind.
He finally opened the door, leading me inside with his hand on my lower back. I kept my eyes closed, but there were already butterflies in my stomach. This was somewhat of a surprise to Nathan as well, considering it was his friend who set this up, and not him.
He closed the door behind us.
"Alright, open your eyes."
I opened my eyes to a dimly lit living room. There were roses on the counter, the fire place was lit adding a soft glow to the room, and the table was set with a bottle of champagne in a bucket of ice.
I looked over at Nathan, who seemed a bit taken aback himself.
"So. You ready to eat?"

Deidra
"I just feel like..things are different between us." Graham explained.
We were laying in my bed, now the queen sized one he'd purchased. Now that Audrey was gone, Graham had helped me redecorate the apartment.
He and I had grown closer, and found ourselves confiding in each other. He supported me in going to school, I supported his career. Things worked for us.
"Why don't you reach out to him?"
"He never texts back unless it's about a beat. It's like since he got with Audrey, I haven't heard from him. It's just weird because of how close we were."
I'd definitely noticed graham and Nathan's slow drift apart. Just like I noticed the same thing with Audrey and I. She'd text me from time to time, I'd just never get back to her.
Though the downfall of our relationship was more on my end, I had noticed that once she and Nathan grew closer, it was like she was hidden from the world. Hardly ever posting on social media.
"Just send him a text. Ask to hang out."
"That's weird, Deidra."
"It's not. Just text him."

Nathan
I might drop some cash on Brittany for setting this up. It's even more incredible than I thought.
And by the look on Audrey's face, the bullshit from earlier was worth it.
We were eating dinner when my phone lit up on the counter.
Graham:
yo. We ain't linked in a minute. Hit me back.Nigga no. I said in my head, before flipping my phone over.
"So..I know this may not be the best time to bring it up..but..about this job with Sampson. I texted him and-"
"Not now Nathan. We're relaxing." She mumbled, taking a sip from her wine glass.
