Audrey
With Nathan still not telling me where the hell we were going, I was beginning to panic. I pulled out my phone to text Deidra, but I'd already had a message from her.
|Deidra 🍩:|
Went home with Graham :)) , I couldn't find you in the club so I'm assuming you gettin piped tonight too. Good luck..remember what I taught you, don't suck him off if he don't eat the box!(a comment from left on other book lmao)
I rolled my eyes and responded to the nonsense.
|Me:|
I'm actually not, but I did leave the club. See you tomorrow.|Deidra 🍩:
Btw..Graham is getting something fixed at his house so we're on the way to the apartment. Could you stay out for tonight maybe? Or at least until we finish ? 😋"Fuck.." I mumbled, reading the message.
"What's wrong ma?"
"Deidra's fucking Graham in MY apartment. Perfect."
"I guess we gon go back to my place." Nathan said shrugging.
"Uh I think the fuck not-"
"Oh come on, I'm returning the favor. You let me stay at your crib, I'm letting you stay at mine."
"I don't think you're understanding. I. Don't. Want. To. Go. To. Your damn house!"
He glanced over at me and chuckled.
"Girl you low key crazy. I like that." He said smirking. If this cute ass nigga don't— wait, this man has a whole drug habit!
"Shut up." I said crossing my arms.
"You just got so much anger in yo heart. Who hurt you bae?"
"I'm about to fuckin choke y-"
"I was just kidding! Jeeeez. So if you not coming to my house, I can take you to a hotel. But the catch is, if I drive all the way to a hotel I'm not driving all the way back to my house. So we gon have to share as long as I'm paying for a room."
Shit. I can't afford to blow money on a hotel room, sharing a room with him would be way worse than being at his house.
"You would think a rapper would have enough for two hotel rooms, Menace. Since you want to return the favor so badly, you can pay for my room."
"Just because I got money don't mean I wanna blow it."
"Your outfit says otherwise." I said glancing at his get up.
Especially that shirt that probably costed hundreds of dollars.
"Thousands." He said chuckling.
"What? Did I say that-"
"Out loud? Yes you did. And the shirt was thousands, not hundreds baby. And I'm not paying for two hotel rooms..that's the bottom line. So what's it gonna be?"
I hate this nigga so much.
"Well I'm not sharing a room with you."
"My house it is. And I gave guest rooms, so you won't have to sleep on the couch."
Nathan "Menace"
"I have no problem sleeping on a couch." Audrey said with the same stale attitude as before.
It's a shame she ain't mine, if she was I'd straighten that little attitude right out. Right now I just had to take it.
"Let's get home then." I said turning on to the highway to get back to my house.
"Your home." She corrected me.
"Whatever. I think you'll really like my home."
The usual 20 minute drive took about 12 minutes, since it was late, and there were less cars on the road.
We finally arrived to my house, when we approached the gate I looked over at Audrey for her reaction.
"Fuck you lookin at me for? Enter the code." She said shifting back.
I entered the code and drove in the community and approached the drive way to my house. There's no way she's not impressed, I told myself.
"You ready?" I asked her.
"Uh yeah." She said like it was a dumb question.
"Oh my god what is your issue with me?" I asked her, tired of the tone she was giving me.
"Really? You're an asshole!"
"I'm letting you stay at my house and you're insulting me? Plus I ain't do shit to you."
"You lied to me, first off."
"Audrey I never told you I wasn't Menace. I just didn't tell you I was. I didn't lie about anything."
"You know what I mean though!"
"No, I don't." I said opening the car door and getting out. She scurried to follow behind me, and eventually was back next to me.
"Yes you do. You weren't up front with me."
"You expect me to be up front with strangers?" I asked her. She sighed in defeat, and said nothing else as we approached my front door.
I pulled out my key, unlocked the door, and entered the house. I waited for Audrey to look around in amazement, but no. She kept the same look on her face.
"Do you like?" I asked her.
"Sure." She said uninterested.
Oh come on! Why can't she admit that she's in awe!?
"Follow me upstairs, you can use the shower tonight or tomorrow morning. You can sleep in the room down the hall from mine." I told her.
We went upstairs and I showed her the bathroom. Surely she'd admire the large tub, walk in shower, and granite countertops, right?
Wrong. Nothing.
She slowly stepped into the bathroom and looked closely at the counters...yes. Say it, say you love it.
She then lightly placed her finger on it, then lifted it..showing it to me. I looked closer, and my heart stopped when I saw the remnants of white powder on the tip.
"What's this?" She said rubbing the powder between her fingers.
"I..uh-"
"I'm guessing you had an eventful night a few days ago?"
"I'm trying to stop. I can't do it alone though. And I know I know, I won't ask you..I don't feel like hearing the snarky response you'd give me."
She sighed and looked at the leftover coke on the counter.
"I wouldn't mind helping you, I helped my mom quit before she died..but the thing is, you're living this lifestyle that I'm not a part of, and I can't be a part of."
"Why not?" I asked her.
"Paparazzi, drinking, money..that's not me. I can't afford this."
"But-"
"Listen, we can exchange numbers and talk via phone, that's it. Could you get me some stuff for a shower so I can sleep."
"Alright." I muttered, going to get her stuff.
I brought back a towel, a loofa, an old shirt of mine, and a pair of shorts I hoped she could fit.
"Here." I said giving the stuff to her.
"Thanks Nathan." She said closing the the bathroom door.
She's gonna help me, I said to myself.
