Three years after Nikko set out with Hanime and Yamaka, the trio returned to the Leaf. Nikko walked at the head of the trio. The boy had grown since he'd left. Iruka barely recognized him.
"Is that you, Nikko?" Iruka asked, stopping the trio.
Nikko looked up to his old sensei. "Where is Naruto?" he asked.
"Training with Jiraiya," Iruka said, "Why?"
"Where?"
"I don't know. I'll ask again, why?" Iruka said.
The boy turned around. "I have an important message to deliver to him."
Nikko then walked forward. His friends followed him. Kakashi stopped him. "What's the message? You can leave it with me."
The boy narrowed his eyes. He opened his palm beneath his cloak and began to gather chakra into it. "The message is to be given only to Naruto."
"It can't be that important," Kakashi said, "This is Naruto we're talking about."
"The message is a warning. The Akatsuki are making their move soon."
Kakashi's eye widened. "How do you know?"
"A lot's happened in three years," Nikko said, "I've assisted them at times, but no longer. We've split off."
"I think we were just fine working with them," Yakama said.
"I ultimately serve my village," Nikko said.
"You assisted them?" Kakashi asked.
"I helped them collect bounties," Nikko said, "in exchange, one of their members trained me. He said the training would help me kill Itachi."
