Nagato's Decision

"Got to help Naruto," Nikko said, struggling to his feet. He could sense Naruto and Pain fighting.

"Naruto has asked that nobody get in his way," Katsuyu said, "Besides, you're in no condition to fight."

"Then I'll find the real one," Nikko said, opening his palm to reveal one of Nagato's receivers. He shoved it into his hand and reverse tracked the chakra back to the source.

He rose shakily to his feet and walked toward the source of the chakra. His attention was forced toward the battle when a beam of red chakra shot into the sky. "That's. . ."

"My other half," Kurama said.

"Shit," Nikko said, "This is not good."

"What do we do?" Kurama asked, "Should we kill Nagato, or stop Naruto?"

Nikko narrowed his eyes. "I'd normally put him into a genjutsu to subdue him, but I don't have my Sharingan anymore. I leave it up to Yamato's sealing jutsu to contain your other half."

Nikko continued to Nagato. When he found the Paper tree, he knew he was in the right place. Horse, Tiger, he thought as he wove the signs, Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!

Yamaka interrupted him before he could do the jutsu. He dodged her paper shuriken. He then whirled around and threw a black rod at Yakama. The girl blocked the rod and assembled herself before Nikko.

"What's this treachery, Yakama?" Nikko asked.

Yakama shook. She bit her lip and her eyes kept flicking from the tree to Nikko. She collapsed to her knees. "Who do I pick?" she asked, "Mother or you?"

Nikko sighed and knelt down before her. "Yakama, I know this is hard. Konan is your mother, right?"

Yakama nodded.

"Listen," Nikko said, "I just want to talk to Nagato-sensei."

"Then enter," Nagato said.

Nikko rose to his feet. "I'll be back."

The young Otsutsuki stepped into the tree. His eyes widened when he saw Nagato. "You look different than I would've thought," he said, "You're sick and frail?"

"Make no mistake, Nikko," Konan said, "He could kill you in a moment's notice."

Nikko threw a kunai at Konan. "Silence," he said, "You're not the one I came to talk to."

"What is it you have to say?" Nagato asked.

"Most people aren't evil," Nikko said, "They're just scared or misunderstood."

"What are you saying?" Nagato asked.

Nikko closed his eyes. "You aren't evil," he said, "I don't want to kill you. Just let me take you in."

Nagato laughed. "You think they won't kill me?"

Nikko sighed. "Trust me, you don't want to fight me."

"I don't," Nagato said, slightly distracted, "but look outside."

Nikko looked out to see Pain's Planetary Devastation. "You've captured Naruto, have you?"

"I've won," Nagato said.

Nikko smirked and crossed his arms. "Never underestimate Naruto," he said.

Nagato gasped when Naruto freed himself. "Did he learn to control the Nine-tails?"

Nikko's smirk widened. "Now, as soon as he kills Deva we'll wait for Naruto to get here."
