Endless Darkness

Hanime watched Nikko read the Naka shrine. Nikko's hands curled into fists. "Why?" the boy asked, "Why is the Uchiha clan so obsessed with power?"

The redhead put a hand on Nikko's shoulder. "It's alright," he said, "Let's go find Itachi."

"Nikko Otsutsuki," Nikko said, "I like the sound of it. Let's go then." He teleported to the Fourth Hokage's Great Stone Face.

Nikko observed the village. He noticed then that Naruto, Sai, and Sakura were leaving with Yamato. "Good luck, wherever you are going," he said.

Pain watched with wide eyes as Nikko approached the Rain. "He dares to return," Pain said, "We have a brave boy on our hands."

"I'll kill him just like I did his mother," Konan said.

"No," Pain said, "I'll deal with him."

"Where is he?" Nikko asked, appearing behind Pain, "Where is Itachi?"

Pain sighed. "Almighty Push."

Nikko didn't budge. "Where?"

"You resisted?" Pain asked.

"I simply kept teleporting to this exact spot several times per second," Nikko said, "Where is Itachi?"

"I don't know," Pain said.

"You can turn thought waves into chakra," Nikko said, "With that you can communicate with anyone from any distance. Ask him."

Pain sighed. "You killed Sasori."

"No," Nikko said, "That was Chiyo and Sakura. I simply assisted. I could kill you, however."

"Unfortunately for you, that's incorrect," Pain said.

"The real you is somewhere," Nikko said, "I'll find him. Now, where is Itachi?"

Nikko threw himself back when a chameleon's tongue shot toward him. Had he been a second slower, he would have been crushed.

Pain whirled around, bringing a black rod with him. Nikko sidestepped the rod and teleported away. He appeared in the training field at the Hidden Leaf.

"Well?" Hanime asked.

Nikko shook his head. "I couldn't get the information out of him."

A sword found its way into Nikko's back. Nikko coughed up blood and whirled around, bringing a marked kunai with him.

Nikko's kunai went through his assailant. The boy narrowed his eyes. "Madara," he said.

Tobi grabbed hold of Nikko's arm and began to pull him into the Kamui. Nikko teleported away. "Such a bothersome jutsu," Tobi said. He transferred himself into the Kamui dimension as Hanime and Yakama swung for him.

Nikko sighed as Tobi appeared before him. He stood and readied a marked kunai. He then made the rat, tiger, dog, ox, rabbit, and tiger hand signs. "Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!"

Tobi allowed the Jutsu to pass through him. "Is that all you've got?" he asked.

Nikko threw his marked Kunai at Tobi. He then pulled the Katana from his back. "Flying Raijin: Slice." His slice went through Tobi, not even harming the man.

Tobi then grabbed Nikko's arm. He began to suck the boy into the Kamui. Nikko teleported back to his marked kunai.

"What do you want, Madara?" Nikko asked.

"Your eyes are starting to become a problem. I need to be rid of them," Tobi said.

Nikko smirked and activated his Mangekyou Sharingan. "Let's see you try," he said, "Kenro." The area around the duo went as dark as a moonless night. "Fudo."

Taijutsu and Ninjutsu won't work on him, Niko thought, I guess I'll have to use Genjutsu.

He rushed Tobi.

One look is all I need. Nikko threw himself forward with all the speed he could muster. His eyes locked with Tobi's. "Kenro: Endless Darkness!"

Tobi stumbled back and clasped a hand over his eye. He shook his head and pulled himself into the Kamui dimension. He didn't return.

After three days, Tobi managed to free himself of the sea of inky blackness Nikko had placed him in. He grit his teeth and slammed his fist onto the ground. "Damn those brothers and their exceptional genjutsu," he said.

Tobi stood up and sent himself to Pain. "I've failed," he said, "I leave the boy to you."
