-The next day-
I walked to school alone the next morning, wondering what it would be like to fly. As soon as I got to school, I met up with Taylor then Jason.

"Hey did you guys hear about the new kid? It's that girl from the cafe," Jason said excitedly.

I shook my head, "she's coming here now?"

He nodded, "she transferred here this morning and they let her in right away."

I looked at Taylor as a group of girls became louder. "Can we leave this spot? I can't think with all their stupid gossip over there," Taylor complained.

I nodded and grabbed my grey backpack off the floor. Just as Jason was reaching for his backpack, Ann-Marie came skipping towards Taylor.

"Hello Taylor, enjoy this while you can because one of these days, you shall be mine," she said as leaned too close to him for comfort.

He smirked, "whatever you freak. I will never be yours."

She backed away from him, "say what you will but one day you will be mine." She began to walk away but just as she did, every guy surrounded him.

"Hey, you know the new girl? Hook us up man! Share the girls dude!" the jocks said as they pushed everyone out of their way.

I was pushed to the ground by a jock as Taylor tried getting away. "Leave me alone!" he shouted.

He took one look at me before walking away from the others. Jason helped me up and led the way to class. When we walked in, Taylor was already sitting in his seat. He was still surrounded by a group of guys. He stood up and slammed his hands against the desk, "GET AWAY FROM ME!"

I handed Jason my backpack and walked over to Taylor. I placed my hand over his, "hey, are you okay?"

He shook his head and pulled his hand away, "I'm annoyed. These losers won't leave me alone all because of that-" The teacher, Mrs. Martinez, walked in to the classroom with Ann-Marie following behind.

"Alright class, go back to your seats. We have a new student in the class."

I patted his shoulder as he began to shake his head, "don't worry. This class will be over in a while so just bear with it. Later on, we could talk about this if you want too." I walked back to my desk and took my backpack from Jason.

"Class, this young lady is Ann-Marie Nelson. She transferred to a lot of schools and has finally came here. Treat her kindly, especially you Taylor," Mrs. Martinez told the class. Everyone giggled as Taylor shook his head no. "Why don't you go ahead and pick your seat, dear," the teacher said.

Ann-Marie nodded and walked over to the seat next to Taylor. Uh-oh. Taylor was glaring at her as she sat down with a small grin on her face. She whispered something so low, only Taylor was able to hear. "Get out your textbooks and go to page 356, Chapter seven, section two" The teacher assigned. We grabbed our text books as Mrs. M walked over to Taylor's desk. "Taylor, we don't have enough books in the class for you to have your own and I'm afraid, Ann-Marie hasn't checked out her books yet. You will have to share your book with her and answer her questions if she needs any help."

He pushed his book to the middle of their desks and began his work. I turned to the page we were supposed to do but I couldn't help looking back to see what they were doing. Taylor was really angry earlier so what if he explodes again during class? They were whispering about something.

All of a sudden, Taylor stood up from his desk and shouted, "stay the hell away from me!" The class became silent as the attention turned to him.

"Taylor Garcia! You do not talk like that in class! Take your seat right now or I will send you to the principal's office!" He grabbed his backpack and walked out of the class without saying another word. "I apologize for his rude behavior. He's usually very silent in class," Mrs. Martinez apologized to Ann-Marie.

She shook her head, "it's my fault why he did that. I went a little too far." I was curious to find out what she said to him but figured I can just ask Taylor later. It felt like forever when class ended as I grabbed my backpack from the ground and walked out with Jason.

"Hey, where do you think he ran off to?" I asked him.

He shrugged, "I don't know and I don't really care."

I frowned at him, "well I do. Unlike you, I actually count him as my friend."

He rolled his eyes, "oh yeah, your best friends with Mr. Don't come near me."

I punched him lightly on his shoulder, "Don't make fun of him!"
