Brenda
I looked around as everyone suddenly became excited about going to war with a vampire, but I couldn't blame them. Everyone in this building is considered family to Taylor, just like he is to them. They have all laughed together, fought together, and even cried together. They all share a bond that nothing in this world could ever destroy. After watching Taylor grow up, it's obvious to say that they all love him.
"When do you plan to attack, President Anderson?" one of the senior hunter's called out.
"When his guards are most likely to be fully up. Most vampires adjust to life with the sun, but even for those beasts, sleep will have to claim them eventually." Wouldn't that make the vampire angry enough to kill us three times over? What about Taylor? How do they plan on helping him?
"Sir, our team will be honored to volunteer in the search for our comrades. After all, he is the leader of this team, and we never leave a hunter behind." Parker answered the question I never heard. "We guarantee his rescue will be accomplished."
Parker, Hailey, and Jason turned to walk away. Megan and I followed them silently, close behind.
"Parker, how do you plan on invading a vampire's cave or home, or whatever they own?" Jason asked, clearly thinking of a few vampire movies.
"Easy. We find his home, pray it's not some mansion, and break in. If I'm correct, Taylor will be kept in the dark room, my guess wit no windows. Luckily, we have Miss Hernandez here who has already seen the inside," Parker answered.
"You know your not that much older than me. You can just call me Brenda," I said, a bit annoyed.
He just shrugged. "I don't know you as well as the others, nor do I know how helpful you will be for the rescue. I mean, you joined this place, but you were never trained."
Hailey elbowed his chest before saying "leave her alone. She will tell Taylor on you later."
I crossed my arms over my chest, "what is your problem against me? What did I do wrong?"
Megan took my hand and shook her head no. "Hailey's not a people person. She needs time to warm up to you."
"I do not have issues with people!" Hailey shouted at her younger sister. "I don't trust most of the idiots outside the association because they think they can do everything. I mean, try fighting monsters all your life and the say something like that."
Jason placed his hand on her shoulders. "Easy there, Hailey. Be a nice girl now."
Hailey glared at him before stepping away. "I'm not a horse. Don't treat me as if I were some mere animal."
Megan giggled a bit before looking down at her black training shoes. "Will you guys try to bring Taylor back before Christmas? I don't want to celebrate it without him."
Looking at the others now, I could see uncertainty on their faces. Christmas is only a few days away, and there is so much to do.
"We will do everything it takes to bring him back by Christmas," I promised her.
"Don't promise her something we might not be able to keep, Brenda. I don't want my little sister to get her hopes up," Hailey said as she looked me in the eye.
"I see nothing wrong with giving a little hope," Jason said, backing me up. "Let's get ready for battle, but first give her a bit of training."
Everyone nodded before Hailey and Megan took my hands and dragged me away. "Where are you taking me? I asked as I looked back to see Parker explaining something to Jason.
"Relax, we're going to help you find a hunters uniform. You are one of us now, aren't you?" Hailey said with a small smile.
I smiled back as both Anderson sisters dragged me into a room with two beds.
The walls were painted a royal purple and were completely covered in pictures. Megan dropped my hand and sat down on a bed as Hailey pushed me into their restroom.
"Take a shower, and we'll have a uniform ready when you come out," was all she said before leaving the room.
I did what I was told, washing off all the dirt from my skin and hair. When I came out, I wrapped my body in a towel before stepping out of the restroom. Megan was holding a black short sleeved shirt and a pair of khakis out for me. I thanked her before taking the clothes and stepping back into the restroom to change.
When I was completely dressed, Hailey dried my hair and tied it in a pony tail. "Let's get going to the training room. We should work on your combat training before handing you a weapon."
I nodded and followed Hailey out of the room. We walked down three hallways before coming up to a door with the words Training Area over it. I couldn't help but be amazed of how much weapons they actually held. Almost everything in the whole room was a weapon.
"Madeline! Here's a new student for you!" Hailey shouted. She gestured for me to head over to her.
Walking over , I noticed Madeline was showing a class of children about Megan's age, hand-to-hand combat. I watched her examples, practicing them along with her other students. Because I was her newest student, Madeline made me work twice as hard as the other kids. I pushed my body to it's limits before we moved on to weapons.
"This is all for Taylor. This is all for Taylor," I repeated in my head, fueling my determination to continue. Thoughts of how we might find him swirled in my head. He could be bruised up, hungry for blood, or even traumatized again. What if he really does turn against the Association? Everyone here loves him enough that I don't think any of them will kill him. I know I wouldn't be able to hurt him again. I have hurt him several times before with the necklace I received. Now I will use that necklace in order to help him escape the trouble he was born into. "This is all for Taylor."
