Taylor
I have been training for this moment most of my life. The moment I would be able to fight the man who ruined my life many years ago. But, why is it that I couldn't beat him?
"Rise and shine, Taylor. The moon's light shines on you," an annoying voice said.
I didn't look up, didn't bother to open my eyes just to see the bodies of everyone we couldn't save. "What do you want? Are you here to invite me into your evil tea party?" I forced myself to look up at Samuel and opened my eyes. "I'm not interested if that's the case."
He smiled before putting his hand under my chin, letting me notice the injuries I had given him were gone. "You are quite the comedian," he said with a grin. "Do you know what it's like for a vampire to drink another vampire's blood? It's satisfies the thirst for blood and let's one inherit certain qualities."
I moved away from him as far as I could get with my arms chained to the wall. "Are you telling me this because your going to drink my blood, or just stand there and look pretty?"
Samuel frowned before baring his fangs. "I am quite curious to see the world through your eyes. Shall I take a peek?"
Before I could answer with another hint of sarcasm, he buried his fangs deep into my neck. My eyes grew wide as memories began to rise in my head. My breathing grew heavy as he searched through the bad times. I was forced to relive my parents deaths as the four year old I used to be. I was taken once again, trying to get away in my pajamas. The house I had lived in was burned to the ground by the hunters to prevent my parents from becoming vampires themselves.
When Samuel pulled away, he gave me a satisfied smile. "Someone clearly has issues about the past when he should be worried about the future."
Warm blood covered my neck as he pulled out a knife. I looked back at him, knowing what he was going to do. He cut my arms, slicing them anyway he could think of.
"Your blood was delicious. I could taste your fear towards me, along with your anger."
As blood covered my body, I began to have a painful urge to drink some. "W-what do y-you hope to g-gain doing this?"
He chuckled a bit as if it should be obvious. "Your friends will come for you soon enough, and won't they be surprised to see their dear friend try to kill them. You are at the point where you will desperately need blood."
I shook my head no. "Y-Your wrong. I-I will n-never k-kill my f-friends!" He turned to leave, but decided he had one more thing to say.
"My offer still stands. Leave the Association, and I will save you from the pain soon to come."
I glanced at him before saying, "I'll n-never j-join a c-coward l-like you. I-I'd r-rather die."
He glared before walking out of the room.
A few minutes later, a little boy walked in, followed by a girl. "Hi, remember me?" he said with a small smile.
"D-Derek?" I said, trying my best to ignore the pain. "W-what are-"
He gestured for me to stay silent and listen. "Samuel Marcus happens to be my dad, but he doesn't seem to enjoy our company. My sister and I are going to try to help you as much as we can."
I looked over to the girl as she nodded, "I'll introduce myself after we feed you. Dad won't be happy about this, so don't make it obvious, alright?" she said. She held her arm up to my mouth, wanting me to take her blood. The sound of her blood reached my ears as my fangs slid out of their slits.
I bit into her, telling myself she isn't human. I could feel the pain subside with every drink I took. When the pain was fully gone, I looked up at her as she dropped her arm to her side.
"My name is Lisa, by the way," she said with a smile.
"Taylor. Thanks for helping me out," I replied back. "What's the word on the human hostages? Are they safe?"
Derek nodded, "once dad got you, he let the others go. They should all be in hunter's custody."
Lisa looked around before saying, "your friends are going to come for you soon. They will try to rescue you, so try to hang on as long as possible, alright? Don't make them fight for nothing."
"I have never stopped fighting for my friends, so I would expect them to do the same." I looked up to the moon and said, "for some reason, I feel at ease under the moon's light. Like everything is washed away under it's pure light to make way for a new day."
They nodded before looking up at it too. "That is a good way to put it, I guess. We will try to get you out of here, but promise us, you won't bring my brother and I any harm. Just kill my dad and allow us to lie in peace."
I shook my head no. "I can't promise something I can't keep. If your names come up in the association, I will have no other choice but to follow orders."
Lisa held my head up in her hands, forcing me to look at her. "Look, we won't cause any problems for you hunters. The only reason those humans are alive, your girlfriend's alive, is because we helped them as much as we could. All I want is for my brother and I to be left alone in time for Christmas. No hunters, no humans what so ever."
The door slammed open in the night, letting Samuel inside with a questioning look. "What are you two doing here? Get back upstairs now!" he shouted, his voice sounding irritated. Once they were gone, he turned back to me. I had already closed my eyes again, hoping I won't have to witness another death. "My, my. Someone has been a naughty boy. Let me clean after you, child."
I sensed his hand getting closer to me and glared at him. "Don't. Touch. Me."
He laughed before using his incredibly sharp nails to cut into my stomach. "You are not the one to give orders, little boy. No one will ever come to your rescue."
I held back my scream as pain took over once again. I opened my eyes a bit and watched as he licked my blood off his fingers. "Y-your a monster," I said through my teeth. "The hunters will come for me, and we will destroy you."
"What are hunters if they don't destroy all vampires. If you were turned as a child, what is it to stop them from killing you years ago? If you weren't a child raised by the hunters... No. If you weren't their pet, there would be no way they would come for you."
I pulled at the chains binding me, eager for another round. Anger and adrenaline filled my veins, despite the blood gushing out of my new injury. "I am no one's pet. I am a hunter. A very proud vampire hunter at that." I forced my body forward eager to get a closer look at his face. "I have faith in my family. What do you have?"
He backed away a bit before saying one word. "You."
