I'm worried about Brenda. How is her experience going to change her? For now, she seems to be frightened easily by being left alone. I noticed she was hugging her arms to her chest as if trying to stay warm. I pulled her into me and threw my arm over her. She winced a bit but cuddled closer to me.

"Taylor, your so warm," she whispered silently.

"Your so cold. Where did they keep you?" I asked her. She shook her head no, meaning she didn't want to talk about it. I led her into the cafeteria lounge and sat her down at my usual table before grabbing a tray. I grabbed a bowl of Sam's famous chicken soup, a cup of hot chocolate, and some sweet bread before heading back to her.I placed the tray in front of her and took a seat. I watched her silently as she began to eat.

"Brenda, I know this may be a bit sudden, but-" I started. I was interrupted by the sound of my name.

Meagan Anderson, Mr. Anderson's youngest child, ran over to our table with a big smile on her face.

"Your out of confinement! Why didn't you tell me!" she shouted excitedly. Brenda laughed a bit as Meagan took a seat by me.

"I just got out. Trey and I wanted to make sure she was alright," I told her.

She nodded, "oh. What about that other boy? Did he get out too?"

I shook my head no, "you know the rules. No vampire is allowed inside without a hunter's approval. He's stuck there until he passes training."

Parker walked into the cafeteria with Madeline at his side. I noticed their angry expressions as they walked over to our table, arguing about something. "Taylor, tell Madeline that faeries can't lie about anything," Parker said as he took a seat.

We watched him as Madeline rolled her eyes. "Tell Parker that faeries can avoid telling the whole truth. They consider everything a game."

I looked over to Parker and said, "she's right. Faeries can't lie, but they won't tell the full truth either."

He rolled his eyes as I turned back to Meagan and Brenda. Meagan had been asking her some questions that she gladly answered until one stopped her. "Now that your like Taylor, do you plan to marry him?" The table grew silent as all eyes were on her. She was blushing a bit as she looked over to me. I waited silently for her answer, letting her know I had no clue why she's asking with my eyes.

"Well, uh, I'm only sixteen. I'm too young for marriage still," Brenda answered.

Meagan shook her head no. "For a hunter, it's different. Hunters can marry at sixteen because some of them get killed in missions. You and Taylor should get married and have about four kids. Two of them will be little Taylor's and the other two little Brenda's," she said a bit excitedly.

Brenda and I exchanged a look before Parker smiled. "I agree with Meagan. You two make a great couple. Taylor, why don't you ask her while you still can?" Parker said as he flashed his "this is hilarious" smile to me.

I rolled my eyes at him and glanced at Madeline. "I didn't prepose because I agree with Brenda. What's your excuse? I know all about your crush on Madeline," I said back, flashing him a victorious grin. "I can tell her all about it in my next report."

I noticed their blush as they looked at each other. As Brenda finished her food, we stood up and left the table. Parker had changed the subject back to our wedding, obviously ignoring the drama as best as he could. I led Brenda into a large office and had her sit down.

"Taylor, what are you going to do? Your going to look sixteen forever, so how do you plan to live it?" Brenda asked me.

I didn't answer. I didn't choose to live forever. Who would want to their loved ones grow old and die while you stay young? I would most likely kill myself if anything were to happen to my girl.

"I don't know what the future has in store for me. Maybe I'll die in an honorable way. I don't want to live only to see every one I know die." She held on to my face and brought me closer to hers.

"Taylor, would you consider getting married? Have a family of... half-vampire hunters?" she asked me.

"That depends. What girl would want to marry a beast like me?" I asked her.

She shrugged before looking away. "You never know," she said as she took in her surroundings. "Who's office is this?"

I opened the drawer and pulled out some paper work. "It's mine. I'm an interrogator as well as a hunter. I'm also known as the menace to all vampires." She giggled a bit before taking one of the missing people's files. I tried to take it away from her but she had already started reading. Her body began to shake as tears filled her eyes.

"No. That boy. He...he," she began. I stood up and brought her closer to me.

She cried into me as I tried to comfort her. "As long as you stay with me, I'll watch over you. I won't let them hurt you anymore," I whispered into her ear. "Your safe now, so dry those tears. Don't you want to see your father? I can take you to him, if you want."

She looked up into my eyes and said, "dad's here? I thought he doesn't know about this place."

I shrugged, "Trey told me that your mom told him everything. He doesn't really like this place though; he thinks we should leave our duties to the church." I felt my phone vibrate through my pocket and pulled it out. I read the message before smiling at her. "Looks like he's here for you. Your dad's in the lobby, so I'll take you there in a bit. I am a hunter, so I have to wear my uniform to my new case."

She smiled as she closed her eyes. I stood up and walked into my private restroom where I always have a spare uniform. I changed into some black pants, a button-up long sleeve dress shirt, a red tie, and a black jacket. I replaced my tennis shoes with my black working ones before walking out.

Brenda stared at me before smiling. "That's your uniform? You look real good in a suit."

I smirked as she tightened the tie a little bit more. "I have to look professional to scare those creatures. I'm an interrogator here as well as a hunter. I'm pretty good at what I do."
