Taylor
I was trapped. Hunters surrounded me, aiming their weapons at non-beating heart. "Taylor Garcia, ex-hunter of the Hunter's Association, you are being executed for revealing our existence to a non hunter and for going against our policy."

I shook my head no and tried to speak but sound wouldn't come out. I was truly going to die. Brenda's words echoed in my head, reminding me of how alone I am. I held out my arms and looked up into the sky just as they fired. "It's finally over," was the last words I said until I felt the bullet entered my body.

When I opened my eyes, I realized that I wasn't about to be executed, but was laying down on my bed. I tried to move, but stinging pain stopped me in my tracks. Memory of the attack came back to me, as did my anger. I can't believe Brenda was the one who did this to me. It never occurred to me that I would be one of her victims. A moan escaped my lips just as mom walked into the room.

"Just relax and don't move. Your going to be feeling lousy for a while after taking on so much power like you did," she said.

"Br-Brenda-" I started.

She interrupted me. "Is in the living room, waiting to apologize. Should I call her in?" I nodded, knowing she would send her in anyways if I said no.

Brenda hesitantly walked into the room, keeping her distance from me. "I only want to know one thing. Why did you do this?" I asked her.

"I don't know. You were yelling at me and I guess I got scared and mad. I can't do anything except cause trouble for you," she said.

I closed my eyes, knowing it was my fault. "I'm sorry for frightening you. I was a bad mood and I took out my anger on you. I only wish I remembered about the charm. You could've killed me." I heard her take a few steps closer to me.

"I don't want to kill you. I don't want to loose you," she leaned over me and took my hand.

Despite the pain, I opened my eyes and grabbed shoulders. I pulled her down to me quickly and kissed her. "I will never leave you. I made a promise, remember?" I told her when I pulled away. She nodded and kissed me again. She didn't pull away until a faint whimper escaped my lips.

"You must be in a lot of pain. Would you like some blood?" she asked me.

The pain in my chest grew as the sound of blood flowing in her veins reached my ears. I tried to say no, but temptation was taking over me. My fangs bared as she gave me her arm. Without hesitation, I bit into her, quenching my thirst. The pain I felt began to subside as her blood filled my veins. I stopped on my own this time as she tried to hold back her pain.

"I'm sorry. I keep breaking my promise. I don't want to hurt you." I told her.

She shook her head slowly. "The only way you could hurt me is by leaving me."

The anger I had felt disappeared as her smile grew. I know in my head that this is all wrong. She shouldn't love a vampire like me. I am not good for her. But my heart says otherwise. Just being here with her, watching her smile and know that I'm the reason why, makes me feel right. It makes me feel... human.

"I'm not going anywhere. You don't have to worry about that ever."

Before we could finish our moment, mom walked into the room with Officer Nunez and Officer Winston behind her.

"Taylor, are you feeling better?" mom asked.

I nodded, "it sucks that I can't go anywhere without people trying to kill me or call me a murderer, but I'll deal."

The look on Officer Nunez's face gave an apologetic frown. He didn't want any of this to happen.

"I'm sorry if we caused you any sort of trouble, Taylor. I'm trying to help prove your innocent. Will you be willing to talk to me?" Nunez asked me.

I glanced at Brenda to see what she thought. She nodded, thinking it was a good idea. "Fine. I'll talk to you. What do you want to know?"

Officer Winston shook his head no. "Privately. If we interrogate them, you could have given them a story to stick to."

I smirked a bit as I slowly sat up. "I know how it works. I also know that you two are using the old "good cop bad cop" routine. I'm not new at this, you know."

Winston rolled his eyes at meas mom took Brenda out of the room.

"Now, can you tell us what happened when Josh died?" Nunez asked me.

"I was in the classroom doing my work until my partner, Ann-Marie Nelson, left for the restroom. A few minutes later, my friend, Hailey, and I went to investigate a scream. Ann-Marie had returned to the class when we left. When we got there, Josh was already on the ground, covered in blood. I tried to figure out the cause of death, but that was when people poured out of the classroom. They saw me with the body, but I never killed him."

He wrote down my alibi before looking up at me. "You searched the body for a cause of death. Why?"

I shrugged, "I was curious to find out what had caused so much blood. I wanted to report it myself, but I didn't find anything."

Nunez wrote down the details before looking back at me. "This isn't your first interrogation, is it?"

I shook my head no. "I was kidnapped as a child. I was asked many questions considering I was the only survivor."

Winston slapped the back of Nunez's head. "Of course it isn't his first one, idiot!'

I looked over at Winston and asked, "was that necessary?"

Nunez shook his head no. "He has anger issues, so just ignore him. What about Selena? Can you tell me about her death?"

I shook my head no. "I don't know much about her murder. I heard that she was found in a janitor's closet though. I was trying to find a friend of mine when I saw a strange man leave the building. I didn't need to see his face to know who it was."

They both leaned in closer as if I was about reveal a big secret. "Who killed Selena? What was the man's name?" Nunez asked me.

"It was Samuel Marcus. The same man who killed my parents."

After he wrote it down, he thanked me for my time.

"I'll let you know if I have any new information by sending Jason. You seem to be getting information on me through him anyways."

Before they could deny the fact, I led them out the front door and closed it in their face.
