Jason
Blood. It's the only thing that's been on my mind ever since I opened my eyes. My fangs cut deep into my lip as my craving grew stronger.
"Jason, you need to tell us what happened to you before you were turned. Will you tell us?" Mrs. Harrison asked me.
I nodded, "will you get me someone to drink? Wait... did I say someone? I mean something."
She shook her head no. "If you cooperate with me then I'll think about it. Now what happened before you were turned?"
I could tell she didn't have much patience with me right now, so it's probably best if I didn't give her a reason to want to kill me. "I was walking with Brenda into the woods, when out of no where, this vampire showed up. He tossed me around like a rag doll before biting me. He had no interest in injuring Brenda, but he did take her away."
That caught her attention. "Why would a vampire be interested in her? She's only a mere human. can you describe the vampire?"
I nodded, "he has black hair, dark eyes, and an exact copy of an older Taylor. He didn't really leave his name before "killing" me though." I began to wonder how long I would really live. I mean, I won't get any older anymore, My friends and family are all going to grow and die, while I stay young forever. "Mrs. Harrison, would I ever be able to go home again? I don't want to hurt my family or any of my friends. Could I receive some training like Taylor did?"
She gave me an "I don't know" face. "That kind of training can take months, even years for a vampire to master. I don't know if you can handle it."
The sound of blood running through her veins was making my head spin. The clean air spread the smell of multiple hunters, including the foul stench of their creatures. My mouth began to drool as my craving continued.
"I can see that you do not take any of this seriously. I'm sorry, Jason, but I'm afraid your going to spend a few nights with some of our worst prisoners." The hair on the back of my neck stood up as two tall, muscular men walked into the room. One of the guys had a scar leading down his face, but the other had tattoos covering his arms. "Chase. Shawn. You know what to do," Mrs. Harrison told them with a smile on her face.
They grabbed my arms and dragged me out of the room. The smell of blood grew stronger as more people filled the room. I glanced at all the faces for only a second until a familiar face caught my eye. Hailey had a disappointed look on her face. A little girl of about seven years old was with her. Looking at the same brown hair and eyes, the little girl was a younger version of Hailey. They had the same face structure as well. The only difference between the two girls was their expressions. Hailey gave a look of disappointment while the little kid looked with awe, almost as if she has never seen a new vampire before. Now that I think about it, the chances of that may be high.
I was dragged out of the lobby and down some stairs leading underground. When we reached the bottom, Scar face guy grabbed a torch and opened another door. We walked past a few cells, glancing at the occupants as we went, before being tossed into a cell with only one occupant. It was Taylor. He sat in the middle of the cell, covering his ears from the werewolves howls. He didn't bother to look up at me, but I could tell from his face that he was afraid. I didn't notice that the hunters were gone until it grew dark. My eyes adjusted quickly to the darkness.
"Taylor, what are you doing down here?" I asked him as I took a seat by him.
He opened his eyes, which he had squeezed shut, and looked over to me. "I disobeyed an order. This is my punishment, and a good one at that. I've been in here for a few hours and it's already hell."
I looked in front of us only to see that whatever lies across from us is too dark to see. "I can see that. Is the little hunter scared? Does little Taylor want his mommy?" I teased.
For once, he didn't hit, glare, or threaten me. He went back to covering his ears and squeezing his eyes shut. "They won't stop!" he shouted out loud.
I figured he was talking about the noise. "How long do you think it'll take?" I asked him.
He shook his head no. "Not them! Me!" he shouted again. "My memories won't stop. I don't want to be in here anymore!"
Oh yeah, as a kid, the vampire locked him up in a dark room with other corpses. Remembering that fact about him, this place must be messing with his head in a bad way. I just hope he doesn't loose it and try to kill me...
"Why don't you focus on something else? Keep your mind off your memories by thinking about Brenda," I told him as I put a distance between us.
He shook his head no again. "I can't. I already tried." I noticed his body shaking as a tear slid down his cheek. "Mom and dad dying was all my fault. I led the vampires to us. They wanted me, not them."
I patted his shoulder, unsure of what else to do. It's the first time that I've seen a single tear come from him. I thought he was incapable of feeling sadness, let alone actually shed tears.
"I was wrong. I believed that nothing could break me so easily. I got my parents killed, and because of my foolishness, Brenda may get killed. Everyone I meet from the world of light get's dragged into the shadows with me. You got yourself turned into a blood-thirsty beast because I was trapped inside a stupid closet."
I glared at the guy next to me as Taylor tried his best to stay calm. "I tried protecting your girlfriend. The part that made me human isn't dead yet. I don't want to drink blood for all eternity. I asked for training already, but I'm so thirsty."
He took one look at me and held his arm out. "Blood is still blood. If your getting training, your going to need some." I looked over at him to see if he was serious. He looked away from me as he said, "don't get me wrong. I'm doing this because of her. Brenda thinks your dead."
