Brenda
I hate it I hate this place so much. I have been chained to the wall like a dog by the neck. Everywhere I look, dead bodies surrounding me. Some of them are clearly human, but the rest are all debatable. The moon's light hit the dark room through the small windows, bringing with it the night time breeze. I'm so cold and hungry. It has been three weeks since Jason died. Three weeks, I have been locked up. Three weeks Taylor has probably been searching for me. I can't cry for myself, can't even peak. Every sound I make with my voice gets me punished.
I hear the door creak open as two people walk down the stairs. One of them had a flashlight with them, letting me know it was not a vampire.
"Is it possible she's located here? What if the computer made a mistake?" a familiar voice. They flashed the bright light at my face, blinding me.
"Still think the computer made a mistake? The girl's still human." As they stepped closer, I recognized the voices as Mr. and Mrs. Harrison, Taylor's parents. "Brenda, sweety, are you alright? Did they hurt you?" Mrs. Harrison asked me.
I stayed silent as I tried to get closer to them. I took two steps before the cuff pulled me back to the wall.
"Don't move. We'll get you out of here," she said as her husband examined the chain. He pulled out a pocket knife. When he opened it, many types of tools popped out. I waited sleepily for them to get it off. The thought about seeing Taylor and my family made me smile. I missed everybody so much. I didn't notice the cuff had fallen off until Mr. Harrison lifted my small frame off the ground.
"Taylor. Where's Taylor?" I asked as I was carried out of the room.
"He's been locked up ever since you disappeared, waiting for your return," Mr. Harrison told me. Just then, the sound of footsteps filled the room as Lisa came downstairs with Derek behind her.
"Vampires. The children of the culprit," Mrs. Harrison said as the vampires froze in place.
"Hunters, you have to leave before our dad comes home," Lisa shouted to us. "Take the girl and go quickly, but don't hurt us."
Mr. Harrison handed me over to his wife, "take her to headquarters . I'll meet up with you later."
She nodded and took me outside. I was placed in the back seat of a black hummer laying down before she jumped into the driver's seat. She drove at about ninety-five miles per hour for about half an hour, before stopping the car.
I sat up this time and climbed out by myself, and followed her to a large building. "Is this where Taylor is?" I asked her as I looked around.
She nodded, "they should be releasing him right about now. You need to make a stop at the infirmary before you can see him."
I shook my head no. "I'm scared. I want Taylor to come with me. Please?" I begged. She took one look at my pouty face before she pulled out her phone and dialed Trey. I waited until she was done with her phone call to stop.
"Taylor and Trey are on their way. Stay here while I go finish up some paper work."
I waited alone for about a minute before I heard Trey's voice. I looked up to see my big brother and my best friend's smiling faces. They ran towards me and took turns squishing me in a hug.
"What did they do to you? You look awful," Taylor said in a concerned voice.
I took a look at him and noticed his changes as well. He has scars covering his arms that didn't use to be there. A burn mark on his hands and bite marks. "Your one to talk. You look terrible," I told him as I wrapped my arms around him and just started to cry. "I was so scared. I thought I was going to die."
He held me close to him and whispered "don't leave me next time. I don't know what I would've done if anything happened to you."
Trey didn't bother to hide his tears. "Let's get you to the infirmary, Brenda. You shouldn't look like this when dad sees you. He's been so worried about you that he hasn't been eating much in days. I don't even think he's been sleeping much either," he said as I looked up at him.
Dad must be really worried about me. If he keeps doing what he's doing, he might need medical attention. Taylor lifted me off my feet and carried me into a large hallway. There were so many doors, but Trey opened the right one. Taylor laid me down on a white bed and was about to step back when I grabbed his hand.
"Stay with me. Please, don't leave me alone," I begged him.
He nodded, "I won't leave you alone. I promise."
Trey's phone rang just as the nurse walked over. "Sorry sis, but I got to meet up with you two later. I'll call dad and tell him about you, alright." I nodded as the nurse took my hand away from Taylor.
"This child needs some food and water. Taylor, would you be a dear and head over to the cafeteria. Bring her some food," nurse Agatha asked him.
Taylor took one look at me before shaking his head no. "I made a promise that I wouldn't leave her. The skills, word, and weapons make the hunter," he answered her. "I know someone who can bring some though."
Agatha nodded and smiled kindly at him. "Go call your friend. I'll be addressing her wounds," she told him as she lifted my head enough to see my neck. "Oh my heavens! Miss, can you tell me how you got this mark?"
I could tell that she dropped her smile when she saw my neck by the sound of her voice. "I was chained to a wall and treated like a dog," I answered her question.
Taylor met my gaze as he clenched his fists. "That blood sucker will pay for what he did to you. I swear I will be the one to kill him," he swore to himself.
The nurse began to rub some type of lotion on my neck and handed me a large water bottle to drink. "After you have eaten something, make sure to stay away from cold temperatures. You need to stay warm."
I nodded as Taylor helped me off the bed.
