  Jason
"Jason, you have made little progress in your training. If you want to live side by side with humans, you will have to control your thirst," Mrs. Harrison told me.

I was currently resting on the ground, hoping I wouldn't get shocked again. Every time I did something wrong, Mrs. Harrison had the pleasure to continue shocking me. Believe me, getting electrocuted hurts even if your a vampire.

"I'm sorry ma'am. It's just hard to do if your not used to tough training. Even so, I'm not giving up," I told her as I was handed some water.

She smiled before her phone rang. I didn't know what the conversation was about, but I could tell it wasn't good for me. When she turned back to me, she frowned. "We have to stop this early for the day. Your needed in interrogation with the menace to all vampires," she said as she led to way out of the training room.

"Who's the menace to all vampires? I asked, a bit frightened.

"You'll see. He takes his job very seriously for his age. Every vampire who has gone through him has always came out screaming."

I followed her into a hallway with numbers on the doors. She opened door number three and pushed me inside the room. I noticed a man facing away from me, reading whatever is in hands. His scent is familiar, so much it could only belong to him.

"Taylor? Your my interrogator?" I asked as I took a seat. "I should have known you were the one your mom was talking about."

He turned around, "she isn't trying to be nice. Every monster that is sent to me are never the same when they leave. Especially vampires." He took a seat in front of me before opening a file. "Jason, I need you to tell me everything that happened the moment you two left my house."

When a box was taken into the room and laid in front of him, I couldn't help but fear the contents as I saw Parker's smile.

"Go easy on this one, Taylor. After all, he is your friend."

Taylor shook his head no. "The moment we step in here, friendship doesn't exist. He is a suspect, and I merely a hunter with dangerous toys."

I looked at them both before shaking my head no. "This is a waste of time. I'm not your suspect," I said as I stood from the chair. I heard the sound of a gun being loaded and turned to Taylor.

He was pointing a gun at me, gesturing to sit down. "You have not answered my question. I can't let you leave until you do, Jason."

I shook my head no. "You won't shoot me. Brenda would hate to know that her best friend was killed by her boyfriend," I told him as I reached the door. It wasn't the smartest thing to do. Taylor grazed me with a bullet on my upper arm. Pain spread through my body as the spell traveled through my blood.

"It's just as I said. The moment I step through that door, I leave my personal life behind me. Now, take a seat and answer my questions before I loose my patience."

Parker chuckled, "you better do what he says. The last vampire almost didn't make it out alive."

Holding my arm, I sat back down on the chair. "Alright. After we left Taylor's house, we walked into the forbidden woods, following a trail of ribbons to Ann-Marie's house. Before we got there, an older version of you attacked us and "killed" me. After that he must have taken Brenda and ran off."

Parker whispered to Taylor, "Was this kid bitten by Samuel Marcus? You know as well as I do what happens to humans who were turned."

Taylor held his right hand up to silence him. "Of course I do. That human will be bound to the vampire like a servant," Taylor placed the gun on the table, keeping his attention on me. "Jason, were you working with Ann-Marie at the time?"

I nodded as my eyes continued to glance at the gun in front of him. "I had to. I was afraid she would hurt my mom if I didn't. I have to protect my mom from this kind of thing."

He gave me a quizzical look before saying, "what your saying is, you would give up a girl who has no experience in dealing with vampires so she could be killed, in order to save your mother?"

I shook my head no. "Brenda was going for protection, not to be killed. You hunters needed help, so help came."

Taylor gave an angry look before reaching into the box and pulling a large knife. He glanced at me before stabbing it directly in the middle of the desk. "There seems to be one thing you don't understand about us hunters, Jason. We do not accept help from the creatures we destroy. It is our job to protect normal humans from their kind, not theirs."

I stared at the knife for a bit, silently praying he doesn't use it on me. "I get that. I really do, but there's nothing wrong with asking for help. You, yourself, should know this very well since you were rescued."

That wasn't a good idea. Taylor grabbed the knife and was about to use it against me before Parker stepped in.

"Taylor! Stay calm and drop that weapon before you hurt somebody!" Parker grabbed Taylor from behind and held him back.

"I was four years old! I didn't know who was human and who was a monster!" Taylor shouted angrily. "The only chance humans have of surviving this world is us!" He eagerly tried to escape Parker's lock before dropping the knife to the floor.

"Jason, leave the room. It's safer for you if you get away from Taylor. Head over to the infirmary before that bullet kills you."

I stopped for a bit, watching Taylor's attitude change from angry to calm. He showed no signs of his recent fit anywhere on his face. I met his gaze for only a second before leaving the room.
