I laid myself down on a bench away from the sun. That stupid girl, why does she keep following me? I closed my eyes, knowing that no one will come up here.

I remembered a time when we were actually allowed to eat lunch on the roof. The school had built a cafeteria up here and also placed some tables, chairs, and benches. I would come up here everyday until a stupid freshman ruined it for everybody. He jumped the fence that was placed up there for the students safety and threatened to jump off the two story building. After that incident, no one was allowed to come up here.

I heard the door open and automatically knew who it was, "what do you want?"

I opened my eyes and sat up as she said, "you. That's why I'm here. You never gave me an answer to my question."

I smirked, "you won't get anything out of me. What I hate and what I love are my own personal business."

She smiled devilishly,"let's play a game. I have to guess what your most hated thing in the world is and you have to say if I'm right or wrong."

I shrugged, "fine, go for it. I can afford to waste some time."

She began thinking about it. After looking me up and down she answered, "werewolves?"

I shook my head, "I don't know anybody who is afraid of werewolves."

She thought about it again, "zombies?"

I shook my head again, "they're already dead and they can't move fast. What is there to be scared about them?"

She smiled mischievously as she leaned down to my ear and whispered the word "vampire". I didn't say a word. I looked down to the ground as she began whispering more stuff in my ear. "I was correct, wasn't I? I knew it. You were the boy from years ago. You escaped your kidnapper but you will not escape me. Your mine now," Ann-Marie whispered in a seductive voice.

Before I could stand up and walk away, Ann-Marie pushed me back down on the bench. She climbed on top of me and started kissing my neck. I tried to push her off but I couldn't move my arms at all. What's going on? I began to feel her tongue on my neck just as Jason walked up, followed by Brenda.

"I told you he was up here," Jason said as he stared at us in disbelief, "what were you two about to do?"

Brenda blushed as she stared at the ground, "should we go?"

Ann-Marie shook her head and climbed off of me, "I'll go. See you later my little toy." It wasn't until after she left and the door leading up here to the roof was closed that I was able to move.

"I.. I have to go. Something's not right with this girl," I said as I began wiping her spit off my neck. Brenda avoided looking at me, maybe because of what they just saw.

"Not until you answer my question. What were you two about to do?" Jason asked again.

I rolled my eyes, "not what your thinking. I didn't even want her here, so why would I want her on me?" I told him using an annoyed tone.

He shrugged, "well that's not what we saw. Your lucky it was us up here and not someone else." I stayed silent as I turned to face the fence.

"Believe what you want. As long as I know the truth, the rest doesn't matter," I told them, "I should go. I shouldn't be here any longer before that girl finds me again." I jumped the fence and stood on the other side.

Brenda looked frightened as she said, "no! Don't jump!"

Jason was saying the same thing too, "get down from there. You don't have to jump down. You'll get hurt or even die!"

I smirked, it's time for them to see a bit of what I can do. I jumped off and landed on my feet, using my hand to take off some of my weight. They stared at me disbelieving what they just saw. "Brenda, toss me my backpack!" I called up to her.

She nodded, still unsure how I could be okay, and tossed my stuff down. I caught it before it could hit the ground and took off in the direction of the forbidden words. I can already imagine what Brenda's saying to him right now. She's probably wondering how I did that and if I'm okay. She's the most delicate, caring girl that I know. I easily shake her off my mind.

Ann-Marie's words from class kept swirling in my head. "You were taken as a child from your parents by vampires. Your family was killed and you were the only survivor. You watched your parents die without being able to do anything about it. Your next to die."

How did she know about what happened to me? I was only four years old when my parents died. I couldn't do a thing to save them. I can still hear them screaming in pain as the vampire bit into them and killed them. I cover my ears and squeeze my eyes shut as memories began to rise.

"Where's the boy! Where is he or I'll kill you instead!" the pure blood shouted angrily. My parents had hidden me underground in a trapdoor, covering it with a red rug.

"Leave the child alone! He will not go with you only to be given to her!" my mother shouted. That didn't make the vampire happy. He had grabbed my mother before father could reach her and bit into her neck. Through the crack, I watched the vampire drain the life out of my mother without making a sound.

Father was screaming curse words at him as the vampire tossed the lifeless body to the side. I held back my screams as much as I could. "Burn in hell! I will never tell you where my son is! He will never become one of you!" Father shouted. He was the next to die.
