Jason
The next morning, I got a text from Brenda asking if I knew where Taylor was. Apparently, no one has seen him since yesterday. I was unsure of where he was but had a guess. If he never went home, couldn't he be at his association thing? Maybe he wanted to be alone and I know just the place he would go. I got to school early and decided to check the roof. I walked up the steps and opened the door to the roof.

I looked around and was about to leave until my eyes fell on a dark figure hiding in a corner. "Taylor? Is that you?" I asked as I stepped closer to him. He picked a good place to hide. I almost didn't see him.

"Get away from me!" he shouted, making me step back.

"Why are you here in a corner? Why didn't you go home?" I asked him. I stepped closer when he didn't answer. He pushed himself against the wall, covering his mouth with one hand.

"Please! Stay away from me! I'm not safe to hang around with anymore!" he shouted. I looked into his eyes and could clearly see... Is that fear? What happened to him that got him this way?

"What happened to you? You have blood on your shirt," I asked him. I heard the door open and turned around to find Ann-Marie grinning behind me.

"Nothing major happened to him. He has just been improved and enslaved," she answered for him. Enslaved? Improved? How could she "improve" him to be like this. He's afraid of something now. "Taylor, be a good boy and grab him," she ordered.

I looked back at Taylor who looked as if he was struggling to follow her order. Ann-Marie rolled her eyes at him and grabbed my arms. She pushed me against the wall and pulled my head to the side. I didn't realize what she really was until she bared her fangs. My heart beat faster as fear coursed through my veins.

"Uh Taylor, I could use some help over here," I said as she slowly leaned into me. He got up from his dark corner and tackled her to the ground.

"I will not let you turn him into a monster!" he shouted angrily at her. She tried fighting her way out of his grasp. He held down her hands and legs. "If you ever try to attack a human in my town, I swear I'll hunt you down and kill you myself!" he threatened her. I'm not the one he's threatening but even I can see the fire of hatred in his eyes. He let go of her arms and got up. He stepped away from her. "Get out of here now!" he shouted at her.

"Fine, I'll play with you later. See ya, Taylor. Bye Jason," she said as she jumped over the fence, off the building, and disappeared. He slowly turned to me and practically fell to his knees.

"You don't look too good. You should probably go to the hospital, especially with all that blood on your shirt," I told him.

"N-no. I can't go there," he said as he regained his strength.

"Then go home. Why are you even here?" I asked him.

"I can't go home either. I'm no longer human. She bit me yesterday and if I went home, my parents will kill me," he answered back. I think he's taking things a bit too far.

"I doubt your parents will try to kill you. You're their son," I told him as I walked to the door.

He followed, "you don't know them like I do. They are professional vampire hunters. The best team in the hunters association to be exact." He has a point there. If his parents really are vampire hunters, then Taylor's risking his life to return home. I have to help him since he helped me.

We walked silently to his house and knocked on the door. "You better have a death wish for coming here, vampire!" his dad shouted. Through the door, we can hear a gun click, meaning someone loaded it.

I looked back at Taylor, who went stiff at the sound of the gun. "It's Jason! I found Taylor!" I said stepping away from the door. Mr. Harrison opened the door, aiming the rifle at us, before looking off at Taylor.

"Taylor, are you a..." he asked Taylor. Taylor nodded and turned his neck, revealing a bite mark.

"I tried following orders but she ambushed me. She knew what would get me to talk," he explained to his father.

We were allowed to enter the house and Taylor was sent to change. His parents left the room so I sat down on the couch and began going through some files in a magazine rack. I stopped when I saw Taylor's name written on top with words "Top Secret" stomped on the cover. I pulled it out and opened it. There was a picture of a smiling little kid with a basket ball in his hands paper clipped to the real information. I removed the picture and began reading.

A moment later, I heard Taylor heading this way so I quickly closed his file and put it back in it's place.

"You know you can leave whenever you want. It's not safe with me and my parents are too busy to protect you," he told me without glancing at me.

Just then, his parents walked into the room. "Taylor, have you eaten anyone since you were turned?" his mother asked.

Taylor shook his head no, "I don't want to loose the part of me that still makes me human." They looked at each other before nodding and turning back to Taylor . His mother slit her palm and held it out in front of her. Taylor instantly launched forward , eager for blood. His dad held him back before eventually tasing him. I backed away from them.

"Is he going to be alright?" I asked without taking my eyes off Taylor.

"He will be alright after he goes through some training. He needs to be tamed before he could ever be around humans," his dad answered. Mrs. Harrison covered her hand with a gauge and turned to me.

"Jason, do not tell anyone about Taylor's condition. If anybody found out that he's a vampire, it could lead to a lot of trouble for us and for you," she told me.

I replied back, "I won't say anything but if I may ask, how can I get in trouble?"

She tied the gauge tight before looking up at me. "If humans found out about him," she pointed at Taylor, "they may believe that anyone associated with him is a monster as well."

Oh, that's how. If I say anything, not only will I be putting myself in danger as well as Taylor, but Brenda will be in danger too. "I promise I won't say anything and I'll keep Brenda away from him."
