Charlotte's POV
I was sat on a chair and chatting with mum as Dizzie (I realize that I've been spelling it wrong for a while now! Sorry, but I actually prefer it with ie instead) washed the hair dye from her hands that the gloves couldn't stop. "Hey, Dizzie. I was wondering if you could put some pale purple in my hair in two weeks? Do you have any semi-permanent dye?" I asked as Jazelle walked in, her phone in her hand. I smiled at her and watched as the 20-year-old look in amongst her dyes. She pulled out a bottle with pale purple liquid in and replied, "Yup, here we go. So what's happening in two weeks then?" Thank god, she doesn't know it's my birthday! "Nothing much. Mum just said I had to be good for two weeks in order to have my hair dyed. So Jaz, what did your brother want?" I replied, changing the subject afterwards. She looked up and I saw she had a cookie in her mouth, making me giggle. "It was nothing, he just wanted my opinion on something. Nothing exciting." She replied before eating another cookie.
Mum put her hand in my bag and took a cookie for herself. "Hey! Those were mine from Tiana!" I giggled, snatching the bag up and holding them away from her. She smiled and took one from Jaz's bag, causing her to do the same. "You girls are unfair!" Mum smiled as she handed the cookie to Dizzie. She picked it up with her slightly purple hands and popped it into her mouth as she nodded towards the sinks. Mal got up and walked with her so that the hair dye out. "Dizzie, where do you live?" I asked, trying to make conversation without sounding stalkerish. She turned the water on and replied, "I live above this place. But when I was your age, maybe a bit older, I lived on the Isle with my mother, Aunt and Gran. Do you know the Tremaine's?" I nodded and she continued, "Drizzella is my mum. I worked with Granny at the Curl Up 'N' Dye. Mostly sweeping and cleaning, but lots and lots of sweeping!" I nodded again and ate the last of my cookies subconsciously, leaving two for mum and Dizzie.
As mum had the dye washed out of her hair and Jaz played on her phone - Correction, texted Ali non-stop! - I got bored and started singing 'Cold Water' to pass the time. (Did my best to find a cover. Is a six-year age difference allowed??? This girl is just so talented tbh!)
When I finnished, Dizzie started clapping and Jaz stared in shock, her jaw dropped. "What? I wasn't that good." I told them, taking out my phone and playing Subway Surfers. "Charlotte, you amazing! mal, wasn't she amazing?" Dizzie smiled as she finnished Mum's hair and pulled out a blow dryer. "Yeah, it was awesome! Why do you think you sound bad, Charlotte?" Mum replied. I sighed and answered, "One, you can call me Char, you know? And two, the last time I had sung, one of the people in Uma's gang said I was the worst they'd ever heard, thinking I didn't hear. That was on my third birthday, and I hadn't sung since." Jaz put an arm around me in a hug, making me flinch and move away from her. "Sorry, I just don't like hugs unless I'm upset. And to be honest, I'm not even bothered that CJ said that." I told her as she looked confused. The blow dryer started, giving me a chance to escape questions and go back on my phone. (She is like a mini-me! Loves singing, is a phone zombie, and hates hugs! Now I just need to give her a horrible love life - literally, boys hate me soooo much! - and I will have a twin!)
When Dizzie finnished mum's hair, Jaz and I applauded her. It looked really nice; it was a darker purple, and it had slight curls at the end of it. (You know in the first movie? That hair.) "Mum, you look awesome! Well done, Dizzie." I smiled as I gave them each the cookies I had saved. "Thanks, Char. I'll keep that dye safe for you. And if Mal says it's ok, I might dye all your hair purple when you're older. Maybe purple with pink highlights to match your dad's fur?" Dizzie asked as she ate her cookie and put the blow dryer away. I nodded excitedly, and mum nodded as well to say it was ok. Jaz finally put her phone down and turned to me. "Hey, Char. We haven't actually done any shopping! Let's go look around. I want to buy some new shoes too, these ones are old and scuffed." She told me, pointing her feet out to examine her black trainers. I nodded and turned to the two adults. "We're gonna go now. It was nice meeting you, Dizzie. I'll probably be back in two weeks anyway. Mum, Jaz and I will probably meet you back home?" I asked her. She nodded and said that she was going to stay here and hang out with Dizzie for a while. I nodded and left with Jaz, waving goodbye to mum and Dizzie as I did.
