"Only three more days until Halloween! Have you guys got your costumes ready yet?" I squealed/asked Mum and Dad as we sat in the garden having our usual picnic. This has happened once a month, every month since I got here. I used to hate it, but now I can't wait for it. Mum smiled and replied, "Evie's just getting the hairspray off Dizzie and the headpiece sorted and then I'm ready." I smiled and looked at Dad, who was eating at a jam doughnut. "Dad, is your costume ready?" I asked him again. He looked up and froze mid-bite. Nodding his head, he quickly bit down so he didn't have to speak. Me and Mum just giggled at him before I wanted to make daisy chains. "But there aren't any flowers. It's too cold." Dad pointed out when he finished eating. I quickly caught some of the jam before it fell onto his trousers and licked my finger. "True. But you have a daughter and wife that are magical, genius. Oh, whoops, I mean fiance, because you still haven't gotten married after being engaged for seven years!" I told him, adding empathy to some words.

Mum looked down at the purple ring on her finger and then to Dad. "She has a point, you know. On both things she just said." she smiled at him, her green eyes gleaming. I nodded and turned to the grass. "Beware, foreswear, grow lots of daisies here and there," I muttered, flicking my hand and making a massive clump of daisies appear in front of me. (Pic of this and Mal's engagement ring at the top.) I started picking a few and realised that whichever one I pick, two more grew in its place. I started making a really detailed flower crown, using some magic here and there, for myself. I find it slightly unfair that Mum and Dad have crowns and I don't, but I know why. Because I'm not their real child, I don't get the tiara of Auradon, proving I'm its next heir. To be honest, I'm kinda glad! Having to rule an entire kingdom at the age of seventeen? Yeah, I think I'll pass, wouldn't you? (Crown at the top.) Mum looked over my shoulder and saw what I was doing. "How? Do you know what, I don't even want to know. Can you make me one?" She stated than asked. I looked at her and smiled, "Yeah, sure. Maybe I'll even make Dad one too, but more manly." Dad chuckled and tickled my sides, making me jolt forwards and giggle.

Deciding to make Mum's more to fit her, I made the daisies change to purple and changed the type of flower too. I don't know the name of the flower, but they looked really pretty. As I made Mum's, I used magic to weave leaves together with a few green plants to make Dad's. "Wow, if I didn't know any better, I would've thought you were Tinkerbell's daughter!" Mum smiled hugging me from behind. Dad joined the hug too, and I ended up finishing both crowns with magic before hugging them properly. I love these hugs (Just a model pic, not actually them!):

These hugs are special. Before I was adopted, I never knew what a hug from a parent felt like. The closest thing I got to love was when I was upset, and that was once every blue moon! In other words, these hugs are really special to me. Each hug remains in my head, and they never leave. (Like core memories from 'inside out', only better. Btw, the first family hug she ever had did become a core memory and gave her family island, replacing orphan island. Make sense? Okie, I'm gonna shut up now!)

The hug lasted a while, and no one spoke until we broke apart. "I love you guys. And I mean that." I told them, tears forming in my eyes. Happy tears. "We love you too, sweetie."Dad smiled before his attention turned to the crowns behind me. I picked them up and handed them to each other, purposely giving the wrong ones. "Your crowns, your majesties." I giggled, taking a secret picture of their faces. They looked at me and I couldn't keep my laughter any longer. I fell back in hysterical laughter, and they swapped crowns before tickling me together, making me laugh even more. As I was laying on the floor giggling, I saw Dude and a few dalmatians walking by. "Dude, help me!" I shrieked through my laughter. His ears pricked up and he saw me. "Let's go, guys!" He called before they all bounded over and started playing with Mum and Dad. Dude came up to me and sat on my chest, looking at me. I was still pinned to the ground now. "You ok, princess?" He asked me, his head tilted to the side. "I will be when you let me sit up," I replied. He chuckled and moved so that I could sit up before sitting back on my lap. "Ok boys, that's enough." Dude told the dalmatians. They all stopped licking my parents to death and crowded around me. I feel like a dog whisperer now.

"Since when were you so friendly with dogs?" dad asked, sitting up and putting my flower crown on my head. I smiled and shrugged my shoulders as I replied, "To be honest, I don't know. Dude helped me get over my fear of dogs when I slept around Jaz's house. Since then the Dalmatians have loved me. I feel like some kind of dog whisperer!" Mum smirked and raised an eyebrow. "A cat dog whisperer? Very nice. Come on you two, let's clear up and go inside, it looks like it's about to-" She was cut off by a clap of thunder and rain starting to fall. I screamed at the thunder and jumped into Dad's lap. He picked me up and helped Mum clear up while I hid in his arms. Why am I so scared of everything? The rain started to get heavier and I saw Mrs Potts and Chip run out with umbrellas. "Here you are, your majesties. Sorry, we weren't here sooner." Chip smiled at us, his lost tooth making him speak funny. Even though he's the same age as me, that tooth still hasn't grown back, and everyone thinks that it never will. Mum smiled at Mrs P and shook her head, "It's fine, Mrs Potts. Come on guys, let's get back inside." She took an umbrella from the three Chip was holding, and I got down and picked up my purple and black one from him, smiling at him as I did so.

Dude and the Dalmatians were waiting inside for us, seeing as they had run ahead. I was soaked so decided to change into a cat and shake off some water. Chip has never seen me change before, so this would be fun. "Hold on a sec," I told them before shrinking down to the size of a nearly teenage cat and shaking myself dry. Well, dryer. Changing back, I smiled at Chip's face and told him, "I'm the daughter of a cat, it's in my blood to change." His face went from shock to amazement and we smiled at each other before Mrs P and him went back, taking the umbrellas and ruined picnic with them. "Mum, can I see your costume, please? And yours too, Dad?" I asked, turning to them. They both nodded and Mum said, "Mine is in Evie's workshop, but I haven't got a clue where your Dad's is." Dad looked at us and replied, "In our room. I didn't need to buy anything, so it's still hanging up in the wardrobe. I should probably get it out, to be honest. And get that spray stuff from Dizzie." I smiled and we walked off to see Mum's outfit while Dad went to get something from 'Dye Hard' where Dizzie works.

"Oh my whiskers, it's beautiful Mum!" I exclaimed when I saw Mum's costume on a mannequin in Evie's workshop. I saw Evie pop up from a bundle of fabrics and smile at us whilst waving too. "Hey, guys. Don't mind me, just trying to find the fabric for the veil on your costume." She told us before diving back into to massive pile. I giggled at her and went over to her desk. "Is this the tiara, Mum and Evie? It's so pretty!" I asked them, picking up a tiara with fake butterflies on and putting it on my head. "Suits you. Maybe I'll make a less gothic one for you when I'm done." Evie smiled when she came back, blowing her hair out of her face and taking the tiara off me so she could add the veil. I nodded excitedly and turned to see Mum looking at some really nice purple fabric. "Do you like this colour, Charlotte?" She asked me, looking up. I nodded and replied, "Yeah, it's nice. Why?" She shook her head and snapped out of her gaze. "No reason."

Hey! So, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. The next one is going to be at the Halloween party, just fo you know. Okie, cya then! Bai!
