Chapter 50

Charlotte's POV

We had been walking for around two hours now, and all the time I felt like I was being watched. We weren't even halfway to the castle, and I knew the journey could take at least two days on two legs. "Charlotte, I don't think we're gonna get there in time. You have a month left to figure everything out and kill Morgan a, and we're still in Wonderland!" Kono told me, sitting on a tree stump.

I turned and glared at him, "Don't you think I know that? I'm trying my hardest to get back before tomorrow night so I have enough time, but doing this on two legs slows you down!" He scowled. "So what? This is my fault because I can't turn into some form of animal?" "It was your fault in the first place! If you hadn't of touched the watch, we wouldn't be here!" I gasped at what I just said. "Kono, I didn't-" I went to say as he cut me off. "No, you did mean it. Just go on without me; that way I won't slow you down."

I watched him as he walked away, back towards Hatter's house. Once he was out of sight, I fell to the floor and cried. Why am I such an idiot!? Why did it have to be me that got pulled into this? Why can't I just be normal for once? Questions whirred through my head, making me oblivious to the rest of the world around me.

Kono's POV

I heard Charlotte crying and immediately ran back. She's my girlfriend, I can't leave her. Besides her fathers and mothers would probably kill me on the spot. Wait, not probably, they would.

As I walked back, I heard someone else walking. I could see Charlotte by now, and I knew it wasn't her. Just then, some dog ran and jumped on her out if nowhere. She fell to the floor and started laughing, playing with the dog as three more appeared. "Bayard!" Charlotte squealed happily. The five animals played together- and yes, I did just call my girlfriend an animal. -before she asked if they would take her to the White Castle. "Of course, Charlotte. Is he coming with us?" Bayard asked.

Dam, I've been spotted. I nervously walked up to them, half expecting Charlotte to scream at me. But what happened next, no one could predict...
