Chapter 36

"Leave me alone, Joseph!" I exclaimed as I slammed my locker (Mal's old locker) door and walked away. I had my sketch book and chemistry books in my hands, and was practically running with them. "Charlotte, listen to me, please!" He called after me, pulling on my shoulder so I jolted. All my stuff fell onto the floor and I looked at him angrily.

My friends from art class saw and picked up my stuff while I walked over to Joseph. "I told you to leave me alone! But no, you just had to continue stalking me for the past year!" I muttered loud enough for him to hear. I could feel my eyes glowing and my wings begging to come out, but somehow stayed calm. I turned around and muttered, "This boy is getting on my nerves, give him the punishment he deserves." Walking back to Cassie and Jess, I took my stuff from them and looked at Joseph.

Unfortunately for him, I had 'accidentally' sent a blast of ice to chase him around school. He was now running around, screaming, as the orb chased him. "Nice one, kitten!" Cassie smiled. "Yeah, he really deserved that!" Jess smiled. I high fived them both before walking back to my locker so I could actually put my stuff away. I opened it and saw a note and a box of chocolates in there. Only a few people know my locker code- Jaz, Gabbie, Kono, Cassie and Jess- but they could've used it to help someone.

I picked up the note and read it. To be honest, I didn't recognise the writing at all. Who was it from?

"Dear Charlotte,

When I see you, my heart skips a beat, when I'm with you I'm like a kid at a sweet store. What I'm trying to say is that I love you. A LOT. You may not know who I am, and that's ok. Please accept these chocolates that me and my mother made yesterday as a show of my love.

Ugh, great, another admirer! I bet this is just coz I'm the princess of Auradon.

I put my books away and picked up the chocolates before shutting my locker and walking over to my groups usual bench. "Hey guys," I smiled at them. Kameron, Kono and Alex- Jaz's new boyfriend -were talking about the Christmas dance whilst Gabbie and Jaz literally drooled over a fashion mag. "Ew, girls! You're drooling!" I told them. They looked up and blushed.

Kono moved over so he was opposite me. "Hey, where'd you get those?" He asked, pointing at the chocolates. "Another admirer." I sighed as I took out my maths homework. It was half completed but I had been stuck on this one question for three days now. (This is a question that stumped me on some homework the other day so yeah.) Kono moved around and looked at the question. "What the- how can anyone complete that?" He asked. I sighed, "I know."

"Read the question."

"(34-21) x 2 squared + 43 - 18"

"Jeez. Um, ok then."

"Help me!"

"I'm not a human calculator! And I'm crap at that BIDMAS stuff anyways."

I groaned and rested my head on the table. "Dad's our maths teacher as well, and he makes the homework!" I groaned. Speak of the devil. "Hey, Charlotte. How's the homework coming along?" Dad smiled as he walked past. "Terrible! I'm stuck on your stupid BIDMAS question!" I whined back. He laughed and walked over to see the question. "Oh, sir," Alex said quickly. Dad looked at him. "Mum said she was going to call you soon to discuss my 'progress' in class." Alex finished. Jaz smiled at him and the two walked off holding hands.

"Bye then." I muttered. Kono smiled and linked his hand with mine while Dad told me how to do the question. "Go through the letter order. That's the B?" He asked me. "Erm... Oh, brackets." I answered. "Exactly. So, do what's in the brackets." He pointed at the first part of the question. "That's.....13?" I asked. He smiled. "Yes. Ok, what's the I?"
