Dedicated to @babiedoll13 for your lovely comment. Thanks again. :)

Grown ups never understand anything for themselves and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them.

- Antoine de Saint- Exupéry

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. The flight bound for Chittagong shall be landing in a few minutes. Please fasten your seat-belts. Thank you for flying with us and hope you have enjoyed your flight."

The seat-belt sign went on with a pling signaling everyone to fasten them on. Ow, I hated aero planes. Totally detested them. I would get so nauseous that I always had to sleep my trip through. Seriously, these things should be checked against air-sickness. Oh Science, do some more magic please?

I was raised in Dhaka but now am going to our port city,Chittagong for medical college. Now, Dhaka being the capital was fine, well, apart from the constant jams of traffic. At least it had some movie theaters, which unfortunately this city did not have. How could the second capital not have these? Ugh, so frustrating.

"Thank you for riding with us,miss," an attendant politely spoke. I always wondered how they felt riding the plane so many times. They always had that plastered perfect smile, perfect hair, perfect make up, perfect body- in a word all perfecto.

I curtly managed a smile because I was still wandering away in my dreamland. My head felt oozy from the after effects of the sleeping pill.

"This happens to you every time!" retorted my mom. "How can you still not get over it? You are 18!" She still had her saree in a perfect order. Her hair not showing any sign of being disheveled ever.

"Just look at you! Go to the washroom and straighten up!" she orderd. I half sleep walked over to the washroom and splashed water on my face. I looked at the mirror and sighed at my post-plane trip reflection. My bangs had been all curled up, one even hanging out like superman. I had done a French braid with utmost care but now it was a disaster. My right ear turned red due to the pressure on it.

I took out my brush and managed to make my bangs presentable. I just had to attend "nature's call" and soon, made my way out.

We came out with our luggage successfully (well, I was half sleep walking) and got on the car which was fixed from before. Thanks to my mom's work, she knew a number of people here. The pills still had their enchantment on me so I dozed off again. Excitement and tension failed to unleash the full power of Adrenaline on the pill's effects. I sighed, missing my home already. And fell into a deep sleep.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Olivia! No! You can't look at my card!" I slapped Olivia on her arm.

"Hey! Who said I was looking? I was just exercising my eye muscles to see if they are still the same," she smirked.

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, right. Saint Olivia."

We were seated around a table playing UNO, our all time favorite past time. Mary, Ileana, Betty and Zoey were all busy looking at their cards. "Will you guys please shut up and concentrate?" retorted Mary, " Trying to win here!"

Ileana pinched her cheeks, "Yeah right, chicken wings. We all know you get the best hand every time by the grace of the UNO lord." We burst out laughing causing Mary to turn into a red apple now,as she stifled her laughter. She never really got rid of her baby fat.

"Shut up,Il," she cried, "there. UNO!"

"Seriously?" we cried in unison.

"Amaya, Amaya! Wake up you sleepy head!" I jumped up. My heart nearly jumping out of my ribs. Where was I? Where was the UNO? Aww damn, that was just a dream.

"What am I going to do with this sleepy head of yours? I'm sure you won't even realize if a bomb bursts beside you when you are sleeping," my mom grumbled.

Okay, now that was false. If I woke up to her call, I most certainly would wake up to a bomb. But I was not in a mood to argue so I stepped out. I strapped the bag over my shoulder and adjusting my spectacles looked at the three storeyed building before us. The sun was setting causing its radiant color to smear all over the sky.

The gate opened and I stepped in. Dagnamit, even this house doesn't have any space out front. Oh whatever. Over population; such a curse.

"Come on, don't just stand there," my mom said. "Haul your things up."

"Umm, yeah sure. A minute," I said taking out my phone. I messages Olivia, "?"

Soon she replied," Coming."

That was a relief. I went up huffing and puffing with the luggage. Reaching the first floor, my mom knocked on the door. A woman opened it. "Yes?" she asked keeping the door wee bit open to see half her face. She was pretty, I had to say.

" I'm here about the second floor. You were renting to the students?"

" Oh yes!" she now fully opened the door. Mom went in. I told my mom that I would stay out. I hated socializing and remarkably failed at it. All I did is smile like an idiot.

I watched as the two women made their way in. I looked at the Naples Yellow veranda in front of me. A number of plants hung from pots on the chocolate colored railings. There were rose bushes and hibiscus bushes below and the flowers were so big and pretty! A number of cactus plants were clustered up in a corner. I shuddered at my memory with them.

But above all, what caught my attention was a swing hanging in the middle. A swing made of cane and a soft cushion to sit on was laid down on its base. I pushed my spectacles up the bridge of my nose and smiled. I loved such homey places.

I turned my head to see a pair of bespectacled eyes looking at me. The guy was roughly my age with brown-black hair with a perfectly built body clad in a white plain t-shirt. I managed a tight smile just to see the guy smirking a sarcastic smirk. Whatever. I ignored him and sat on the stairs.

Mom came out and soon we headed for the second floor. Oh, and might I add that I had to carry the stupid luggage?

Mom out the key in and turned it. The door opened with a click. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath. As the door opened, so did my box of fear and anxiety about my new life lying ahead of me.

Oh God, help me.
