1: Fight Your Battles✔️

"Move it or loose it, Egghead!" Jayde yelled, flying side by side to the doctor on her board, "You're not getting your hands on that Shard!"

Eggman grinned, "Pah! That's what you think." He glided his eggcarrier to the right, robots circling around Jayde.

The protector growled, clenching her fists before speeding up her board. She leapt off as a tin can blasted towards her, running along the near cliff. Multiple robots surrounded her again, but she quickly turned invisible. A blue blur suddenly flashed around her before all the robots were nothing but scrap metal. Jayde rolled her orbs, returning to vision before spin dashing into the remaining bot and jumping off the cliff. She landed on her board, flying alongside the blue hero.

"You're late to the party, slow poke." She commented.

Sonic grinned, "I'm never late. There was a chilli dog stand a few miles back - couldn't resist."

Jayde chuckled before Tails was heard flying above them, "Guys, Eggman is close to the Shard!"

"He won't get far." Jayde answered, shooting off.

"That's more like it!" Sonic yelled before sprinting at max speed. The grey female could feel the Shard's podium close. It was like Knuckles being able to feel the Master Emerald or a Chaos Emerald - it was already within them.

The appeared at a clearing, watching as the Guardian fought well against the doctor until their arrival. He was one of Jayde's favourite - the usual chilled out and jokey Mobian, "Glad you could make it, hedgehogs." He commented, shattering an Eggman robot.

"What? You think we'll miss out on a fight against Egghead?" Sonic grinned, jolting into a spin dash. The fight was easy, almost too easy for the Sonic team. It seemed as though Eggman was loosing his touch.

"Jees, ball body, can't upgrade your tech a bit?" Jayde asked jumping from her board to land on a mech, crushing it below her.

Eggman growled, "You incompetent renegade! If you'd let me get a Shard or even a measly Chaos Emerald, you'd have less life to live!"

Sonic stopped and looked up, "Please, how long have you been fighting this loosing battle egghead?" And with that, Sonic stomped the last robot.

Tails landed his plane and walked beside the hedgehogs, "I believe that's one to you and... I don't know, a gizillion to us?"

Sonic gave his proclaimed brother a pointed look, "We never talk about that one."

The twin tailed fox grinned, "Of course not. We won in the end, right?"

Eggman growled, "I'll be back."

Jayde placed a hand on her hip, "Now that's the twenty seventh time I've heard that for sure - this week!"

Ruby eyes surveyed the area, an ebony back pressed firmly against the steal wall, 'Okay Shadow, his main office is three doors on the left.'

"What's the best way in?" Shadow quietly mumbled, trying to avoid more problems.

'I'd say through the vents,' Rouge answered, 'There are guards in front of all the doors so it's best to do a sneak attack.'

Shadow sighed, "This would be so much easier with Jayde or a Chaos Emerald."

'She had to protect the Shards from Eggman and you know the leader has a chaos block on this building.'

"Yeah, yeah."

'While your distracting him, I'll grab the device.' Rouge responded before disconnecting.

The ebony hedgehog looked around, finding a vent down the corridor. With a quick glance around, his speed shot him over, diving straight through with minimal sound. His infrared eye piece studied his surroundings, checking for any secret alarms that may be futile. Shadow crawled around, having taken the long route, finally reaching the designated area.

"Rouge, I'm above him." He mumbled, knowing that Rouge wouldn't respond and become distracted from her mission. He listened intently, watching the leader talk to a few people. The leader was covered in a dark robe, preventing Shadow from seeing his form - no one ever did. He was only known as the Dark Creature, no one knew his place of origin, place of birth - if he was even born.

"We leave tonight. With that device, we can identify their weaknesses." His voice made a chill go down Shadow's back and not in a good way.

"Boss, what about the Genetic Lifeform?"

The figure chuckled. His arm raised, dark green fur peaking out from the black cloak, "I'll take care of him." A gun shot blasted past Shadow fur, making him immediately jolt back. The Ultimate Lifeform quickly moved, shoving through the vent, landing on his knee before standing and glaring at the cloaked being. Ruby orbs could see his tan muzzle, dark green fur surrounding it. He was roughly Shadow's height, wings sprouting out from a gap in the cloak.

"Ah, Shadow the Hedgehog. I finally meet your acquaintance." His voice spoke, sharp canines pointing as he smirked.

Shadow scoffed, "It'd be good to see you too. Then I can find out who's been causing GUN so much trouble."

The Mobian hummed a laughed, "All in good time, Ultimate Lifeform." His wings flapped once, the creature shooting off into the sky. Shadow growled, preparing to follow until the guards began to shoot at him.

The ebony hedgehog growled before spin dashing into all of them, knocking them all out cold. The ivory bat suddenly barged through the door and before the hedgehog could say anything, she gripped his hand and shot out the roof with him, "Rouge, what's wrong?"

"Minor incident. I got the device and now the base is set to self destruct... get us out of here!"

Shadow rolled his orbs and sighed in annoyance - that's more paperwork for him to do. He muttered his in famous words before chaos controlling them elsewhere. Unfortunately, Shadow didn't quite notice he was in the air until they both crashed through the roof of the grey hedgehog's home.
