"Shadow, Jayde is located underground, at least two floors down. It seems Torrent doesn't want to make her escape easy." Tails spoke through the communicator. Sapphire orbs squinted as he frowned, trying to gain access into the security system but wasn't having much luck. It seemed to be created by someone much more advanced in this type of technology than him, but he couldn't think of who.

"Tails, what happens if Torrent makes a counter attack?" the rose hedgehog asked, holding onto her mallet.

"We'll come out of hiding and help. Torrent is dangerous with the Phantom Cube - one of us cannot defeat it alone." The young fox answered.

"Tails, we are outside of his base - have you found a way into the security system?" Knuckles asked, hiding behind a few bushes with the two hedgehogs beside him. The team decided on Shadow, Sonic and Knuckles going in to the base first due to their enhanced strength. They would be able to fight of any guards with ease if need be. Although the Ultimate Lifeform wanted to go alone, Rouge warned that the Babylon Rouges may still be with the enemy and he needed back up just in case.

"No, not yet." Tails sighed, growling silently to himself. The inventor heard a static sound before a familiar violet swallow appeared on the screen beside him, "Wave?!"

"Hey, saw your spies in the bushes," the green hawk appeared on screen, "You guys are really bad at hiding."

"Jet! Give Jayde back!" Amy pointed at the bird who merely chuckled at them.

Wave rolled her eyes before shoving her leader out of the way, "We are trying to help Jayde escape as well. Torrent had some kind of mind control over Jet until I created a Phantom Cube prototype."

"A prototype?" Tails questioned, "If it were anything like the Phantom Ruby prototypes, does that mean it can cancel out the effects as well?"

Wave nodded, "As soon as I activated this, Jet came out of it. All I need to do is swap this around with the original and Torrent will become powerless." Tails, Amy and Rouge saw Jet take the prototype from the violet swallow before walking off, "I guess Jet's on it."

"We still need to be careful." Tails warned, "Once I made a Chaos Emerald prototype, but it surprisingly still contained the same powers and Sonic could use it as normal."

"Guys!" the said hedgehog called through the communication, "Something is happening in the base - what should we do?"

Wave looked through the cameras and gasped loudly, "It's Jayde, her cell has somehow opened up," she changed view and saw guards running down the hallways, "And it looks like Torrent sent a present her way."

"Oh, crud!" Sonic muttered after hearing Wave, "We need to get in there as quick as possible." He went to run but the Ultimate Lifeform grabbed his arm and yanked him back after studying the area, "Wha- hey!"

"Are you crazy? There are heat censored cameras all over this place. As soon as they sense you, they're going to send a detonator on your tail!" Shadow snapped, crimson orbs glaring at the impatient hedgehog.

"The best way to go is underground. You come through the main entrance you're screwed." The grey albatross spoke as he came through the door of the lab. Wave glanced back at him before looking at the twin tailed fox.

"Knuckles! You need to dig underground and get Jayde out of there!" Tails spoke.

The red echidna nodded and rotated his arms, about to dig before Shadow stopped him, "If anything happens to Renee-"

"Shadow, chill. Nothing bad is going to happen to her as long as I'm around." The echidna spoke, resting a hand on his shoulder for support, "I promise." Knuckles new that the ebony hedgehog only wanted Jayde to come back safe and sound. The two nodded at each other before Knuckles drilled down with his fists.

Sonic looked at his hedgehog rival, "Aw, Shads, you're going soft."

"Silence, hedgehog. We need to create a distraction that avoids the attention of the heat sensors but gains the guards only." Shadow muttered, going into full agent mode.

Wave looked through the security cameras, transmitting the feed to Tails' computer, "Guys, with Knuckles' sudden movement, you've already caught the attention of the guards. Loads of them are on their way to your current location." She spoke.

Amy rose her mallet, "Let's go kick some bat-butt!"

"Ouch." Rouge spoke, earning a quick apology from the rose hedgehog before the three of them came out of hide and ran to the hedgehog's location.

Jayde breathed heavy, yanking one final time on the chains before they ripped from the wall. The female grinned before her ears picked up the heavy stomping of guards running her way. She gripped the cuffs, unable to disconnect them from her wrists before they appeared before her, pointing guns her way. She rose her hands in mock surrender, "My, my, what's a hedgehog to do?"

"Don't fight and we'll move you to a new location." Jayde growled at one of their responses and she swung the chains around, knocking them completely off guard. Her ears pinned back, running towards them, ducking quickly as they aimed her way.

A few guard attempted to attack, but they were quickly met with their faces crushed against the walls. The hedgehog's enhanced hearing picked up more guards and she quickly rolled into a spin dash, knocking them from under their feet. She met one head on, each throwing punches and kicks the other's way before Jayde was able to get a clean shot and gave him a rough upper cut. The female huffed, hands on her hips, "Pathetic."

"You know, I think Shadow is starting to rub off on you." She turned and saw the red echidna leaning against the wall. He had been standing there waiting for her finish fighting the guards.

"Knuckles!" she sighed in relief, feeling her body weaken slightly, "You have no idea how happy I am to see you!"

Knuckles studied her, "No, but I can guess how Shadow is going to react when he sees that bruise on your eye."

"He won't worry about it." She mumbled, placing a hand on the purple mark while Knuckles frowned. Their ears picked up more guard's incoming before a loud crash from above was heard.

"Looks like the distraction is coming along nicely." The echidna crushed the chains on Jayde's wrists before picking her up in a bridal style and raced quickly through the tunnel he just created.
