"Where is she?"

"I don't know! I've ran all over the village about three times now. She wouldn't just run off like this." Sonic answered the pink hedgehog who nibbled at her lip worriedly.

Most of them had been woken up by the Ultimate Lifeform storming into their rooms that morning searching for the Protector. No one knew where she was and Luna was starting to worry about her daughter which didn't help the situation much. Shadow burst through the door once again, Jayde's Mum immediately rushing to his side, "Y-You found her, right?" she asked, "Please say you found her."

Shadow turned his head away from the female, her wide orbs reminding him of the grey hedgehog they were all looking for, "I'm sorry, I couldn't find her."

"That's the fifth time you've searched around!" Luna cried.

Alester was quick to his wife's side, trying to calm the feline, "Don't worry, I'm sure she's just gone exploring like she used to – maybe she's gone to visit a few of her old friends?"

Shadow wished he could believe that, but he saw how overwhelmed the Protector was just seeing her parents again. He didn't think that she'd want to meet everyone again within the first couple of days of being here – it'd be too fast. Rouge glanced around the room, watching as the red echidna groaned as he woke from his sleep. A small blush rose on her cheeks as she remembered having to clamber out of his arms this morning without disturbing him and quickly turned away again.

Knuckles placed a hand on his head, "Why does my brain hurt so much..." he paused, standing to his feet before walking around, "And why do I sense something powerful and... dangerous?"

Sonic's orbs widened, "Knux, what is it?"

The echidna looked around the house, a slight confusion within him. He knew the power wasn't a Chaos Emerald because the sense would've been strong and pulling him towards it. It felt like a small pull, something just as powerful but what he wasn't meant to guard, "I don't know. I can feel this strange power emitting from the room... It's stronger in the kitchen then leaves out the door."

Tails placed his hand under his chin, "I know that if it was a Chaos Emerald, Shadow would've grabbed it by now." He mumbled, glancing to the Ultimate Lifeform.

The ebony male shook his head, "I can't feel a Chaos Emerald nearby – but I know something is off. It's not like Jayde to just leave."

Luna nodded, "That's right! Even if she did go exploring she would leave a note of some description so we wouldn't worry!" Alester frowned to himself, pulling his wife closer to him for support. What she said was true. Jayde never left the house without an explanation, except for that one time. But he always believed she was safe.

Tails looked around the room. Even if he wasn't kidnapped before, Jayde had still put her life on the line to save him. Just knowing where she was right now would make him feel so much better. If she was safe, then great – if she was in danger, the quicker they could find her. Tails may not have been with Torrent but it was nice to know that someone was looking out for him. He skimmed the area before his sapphire orbs caught sight of something. He shoved Sonic aside slightly before picking up the small green feather. Sonic clenched his fists, "Jet."

Amy frowned, "Why would Jet want Jayde?"

Rouge gasped and turned to Shadow, "He was there the day we found out how Jayde knew Torrent. Jet was working for him."
