"After many hours of searching through CCTV and satellite footage, we've finally tracked down Torrent." The commander spoke to everyone in the room. Shadow, Rouge and Jayde sat in front of Sonic, Knuckles and Amy, listening as the commander explained the following mission to them, "At the moment, he set up a base in the centre of Monopole. It will take you a few hours through the GUN speed tubes with the hover car." The commander showed a few images on screen, "It seems as though he's been smart, setting his base up in a small, highly populated area to prevent us from just barging in."

"Can't we just do that anyway?" Sonic asked, one of his eyelids dropping. Shadow rolled his orbs at the blue hedgehog and his want to smash everything to pieces.

"If you want to cause Monopole wide panic, leading everyone to find out about this powerful villain that will all be placed in your hands – please, be my guest." The commander told the cerulean male with a huff. Sonic put his finger up as if to say something else but he shut his mouth soon after.

"So you're saying we can't do an old smash and grab?" Knuckles asked, clenching his fists and smacking them together.

"You would if he didn't have any guards or security cameras – you could be in and out and this whole ordeal would be over." The commander sighed, rubbing his temples out of stress and anger, "Since we've already had two failures with this mission, every detail of information we have gotten on him has completely changed. More guards, more cameras – if you're going in, you're going in for a fight, not a talk." The commander pulled out the device Rouge and Shadow had retrieved on an earlier mission, causing Jayde's orbs to widen, "This device records all details of computers and users it had been with. Since the enemy has had this for over three years, it has memorised all of his facilities. If you plug this into the hover car, it should take directly to his base in Monopole."

Jayde sat silently.

So this is what Torrent was talking about. Out of everyone in the speed tube, only Jayde would have a board to fly. She would have to escape her friends and steal that device in order to save Tails from his nasty claws.

"I really wish Tails were here," Amy mumbled, "He'd be able to find this creature, no problem!"

Sonic saw Jayde flinch out of the corner of his eye and immediately glanced at Shadow. The ebony hedgehog nodded, telling him he saw. They both knew they had to keep an eye on the grey quilled hedgehog, or she really would live up to the 'renegade' nickname Eggman gave her.

"Tails will return in a few days, if we don't get Torrent this time, we will next time." Knuckles spoke, looking towards the pink hedgehog.

The commander looked at the red echidna, "If? Oh no, I plan on you catching him this time. I foresee nothing going wrong at this point. If you don't catch that Dark Creature this time, I'm afraid we'll have to take matters into our own hands."

Jayde looked at him with one eyelid halved, "Didn't you understand me the other day? Your troops will die if they fight him because he's so unpredictable."

"As much as I appreciate your concern, Jayde, I believe you have become enough of a problem for us to actually keep you on our radar." The commander spoke, anger evident in his voice as he stared directly at the grey hedgehog. Jayde raised her hands in defence, not giving a care in the world at the moment. The blue hedgehog noticed this and frowned. This was not the time for Jayde to become an emotionless Mobian. At the moment, it was like having a second Shadow on the team – and that was something they didn't need.
