Chapter Thirty-Five

People started to show up. People were writing on the diapers and decorating the blocks. We played baby bingo, guess that baby animal name. A lot of name ideas went into the box. I couldn't wait to read them all later. I had been getting complements all day. I appreciated it but once I had gotten ten I was over it. Ethan and Grayson were outside with the kids. We ended up renting a bouncy castle so the kids would be occupied but it also kept Ethan and Grayson occupied. Ethan came inside after hanging out with the kids. "Hey babe" he said kissing me. "Where were you" I asked him. "Oh um...outside in the bouncy house with Gray and the kids" he said laughing. I just smiled. Everyone was so excited that Ethan and I were a couple. After Ethan socialized a bit we decided to do cake. Everyone went outside. We cut it together. "Ahhhh were having 2 boys" I said hugging him. He kissed me. "I love you" he said looking deeply into my eyes and smiling. "I love you too" I said wrapping my arm around his waist. Everyone had cake then we did presents. We got a lot of diapers and gender neutral coloured clothes. We also got gift cards to baby stores and some people gave us money to buy stuff we needed. Once presents were done people slowly started leaving. I was talking with Riley and she was really excited to have baby cousins. "Hey Riley" I said sitting by her. "Hey Amy" she said turning her body to face me. "So are you excited that the baby's are boys" I asked. "Yah" she said. "But next time can you choose a girl" she said smiling. I laughed "you can't choose if the baby will be a boy or girl"
"Why not" she asked. "Well because remember that secret that only adults can know about" she nodded her head yes. "It has to do with that secret" I said smiling. "Ohhh. Well maybe next time you can try to get a girl" she said rubbing my belly. "We can definitely try to have a girl next time" I said smiling at here. "What are we trying to do" Ethan said sitting on the couch across from us. "Next time we have a baby we will try to have a girl" I said smirking at him. "I'm down" he said winking at me. "Babe" I said gesturing that Riley was still sitting right beside me. "Oh yah. So Riley how is dance" he said trying to cover his sexual comment up. "It's good." She said. "Hey you guys should come to my Christmas show. My mom can tell you when it is" she said excitedly. "We would love too" I said. Ethan looked at me with his eyes open wide. I could tell he didn't want to watch a dance recital but I was going to make him go anyways. Once we said thanks to everyone for coming and goodbye, we helped clean up Lisa and Sean's house. "Thank you for letting us have the shower at your guys house" I said hugging Lisa and Sean before saying goodbye. "Thanks for helping us Cam" I said hugging her. Ethan and I said goodbye and put the gifts in our car and drove home. We took two or three trips bringing in all the gifts. "Well I guess we can start picking the paint for the nursery" I said. "Do you want to go tomorrow" he asked. "Yah. We could wake up early and go get the colour and paint. Then while it dries we can go pick out cribs, a change table, a chair and other stuff to go into the room" I said. He smiled. When we were finally done putting the gifts in the house we both flopped on the couch. "Do you wanna order pizza" we said at the same time followed by a laugh from both of us. "I'll order it" Ethan said pulling out his phone. We went to lay in our bed while we waiting for it to get here. When it got to our house Ethan brought it to our room where we ate and watched a movie and cuddled. "I love you" I said putting my hand on his thigh. "I love you too" he said continuing to eat his pizza. After we were done eating we went to bed. We had a busy day tomorrow and I couldn't wait to paint the boys room.
