Chapter Eighty-Seven

The kids are honestly growing up so fast and I makes me a little nervous, especially Connor and Kaleb. They had just turned sixteen and they were always going to parties. Ethan and I were chill about it, because we partied when we were their age. Kids will be kids. They know not to drink and if they do they can always call up. I was more scared at the fact that I didn't know if they were having sex yet. Ethan didn't want to talk to them about it by himself, but I thought it was more his duty as a dad. Of course he ended up convincing me to talk to them with him. I told him I would but he needed to but the condoms himself. I was not going with him. We agreed even though the boys are only sixteen we need to provide them with condoms because if we didn't chances that they end up getting a girl pregnant are high. I wish more girls would take responsibility and carry condoms with them. Not that I don't love our kids but Ethan and I were forced to grow up fast. I guess it's a blessing in a way because we never had to worry about saying no to something we didn't want to do, because we had kids so we never really went out and if we did we were together. Today we were going to sit the boys down and talk to them about sex and how to be safe when having it. I was honestly so nervous because I had never given this type of talk before, nor have I relived it. I guess once I told my parents I was pregnant it was kinda late to have that talk. Ethan and I sat at the kitchen table waiting for the boys to come downstairs. They both came in at the same time and sat down across from us. "What's up" Kaleb asked. "Well we've noticed that you guys have been going to a lot of parties lately. We just want you guys to know that we are here for you guys. Even if it's really late we'll come pick you up" I said holding Ethan's hand under the table. "Wait have you guys had drinks yet" I asked. I was hoping no but... "Well yeah but we don't get drunk" Connor said. "Plus we know if we did we can call you" Kaleb said standing up. "Wait, we're not done yet" I said. I looked at Ethan. I really wanted him to talk about the sex part. He definitely understood. "What else do you have to talk to us about" Connor questioned. "Well believe it or not we were teenagers once too and we know what happens at parties" Ethan said. "And that is" Connor asked. "Have you guys had sex yet" I asked. "I really don't want to talk about this with my parents" they both said almost in sync. "Guys were being serious. We want you guys to be safe" Ethan said. I brought the condoms that I was holding from under the table. "Just if you guys are sexually active please use these, and don't be scared to ask for more if you need them" I said placing them in front of them. "Thanks mom. Can we go now" Kaleb said rolling his eyes. I looked at Ethan seeing if he wanted to add anything. "Yeah you guys can go. Just please be safe when you guys do it" I said. When they walked out of the room I punched Ethan. "Ouch, what was that for" he said. "You said you would talk to them while I just sat there for support. B*tch I think it was the other way around" I said smiling. "No way, you didn't give me time to talk because you didn't stop" He said jokingly. "I love you" I said giving him a kiss. "I love you more" he said kissing me back. He picked me up and threw me on the couch. I couldn't stop laughing. I can't say what happened seventeen years ago was the best decision but I'm so happy it happened and I wouldn't change it for a thing.
