Ethan and I sat in my room on the floor. I grabbed him a pen and a paper.

"We might as well get something done."

He looks at the pen in my hand and shakes his head.

"Why don't we just sit here and listen to music?"

"No Ethan."

Ethan rolled his eyes and stared out the window.

"Come on. Your exam is next week, you're doing so well."

"So you're still going to be my tutor?" He asks with a smirk.

I look at him. "Well I didn't do two weeks of tutoring for nothing."

"Then after next week we don't need to study ever again?"

I give him an awkward smile. "Not exactly. You have end of year exams too."

Ethan scoffed and stood up.

"I hate school." He spat.

"Me too."

"Why do you hate it? You're passing everything."

"Just because I'm passing doesn't mean that i love school." I say. "It just means that I'm passing."

Ethan laughed and shook his head continuing to stare out the window. "You don't understand how easy you have it."

"How easy I have it?"

"Uh-huh." He replies.

"Easy? No Ethan, I do not have it easy. Before I started tutoring you I was a nobody. And I'm starting to think I like it better that way, because now I get pushed around nearly everyday at school."

"What-"

"And that was what I got for trying to be a good person. I lost my notes and phone in the process."

"Wow seppo, you really do have a voice don't you." He laughed sarcastically.

I roll my eyes. This was what Ethan always does. When he's mad he effects everything around him. It causes us to both be awkward and causes me to be afraid. And usually I will take his emotions into consideration and try my hardest to tip toe around his problem. But when I'm mad, he either laughs at me, or gets pissed off.

"And stop calling me seppo!" I yell.

Ethan broke out into laughter as he sat on my bed.

"What?" I ask rolling my eyes.

"You're funny when you're angry Stone. Now here's what we're actually going to do." He smirked. "Turn off the lights and play some 1975. Let it be a treat for you and a way of me saying sorry."

He smiled at me as I crossed my arms. Damn it. That bloody, forsaken smile. He was the devil, I swear he was. He laid down on my bed and patted the space next to him. I sigh, turning the lights off , playing The 1975 and laying down next to him. I kept my distance from Ethan. And I looked at him and he had his eyes closed. I stare at the ceiling before I shut mine too. I feel the music through the air, and I feel his presence next to me.
