I was walking home from school with my thoughts wrapped up with what just happened. He was right. I will be leaving this town soon. But I would never forget him. He was my first love. How could you forget something so damn important?

When I got home I dumped my bag onto the ground and went straight to my room. I put a record on and I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, not doing anything. Not crying, not feeling sad or upset or anything.

Ethan's P.O.V

"Did you have a good day sweetheart?" My mom asked from the kitchen.

"Yeah, wasn't bad."

"I got an email the other day, did you and Grayson go to exams?"

I shake my head. "I was busy at that time and couldn't make it."

"You couldn't make exams?" She asked again.

"Yeah." I laugh. "If I want a scholarship I need to focus on football and the rest."

She just nodded and carried on with dinner. Grayson walked into the kitchen and took a seat next to me and put out his phone to my face. I squint as the read the message and it was from Kendall.

"I don't want to read it." I mutter.

"Talk to her E." Gray whispered.

"No, dude. I can't."

"What are you two whispering about?" My dad asked from the kitchen counter.

We both shrug out shoulders and Grayson locks his phone and puts it into his pocket.

"Do you want to go for a drive?" Gray asked.

I nod slowly before getting up. We told our mom and dad that we weren't going to be long and we left the house, getting into the car and driving off. Grayson put music on and I close my eyes. His music and my music were completely different. I felt the car slow down and I open my eyes. We were right outside Kendall's house.

"What are we doing here?" I ask.

"Get out." Grayson laughed.

I shake my head. "Dude, take me home."

"Ethan, what do you want?"

"What do you mean what do I want?"

"What do you want with Kendall?"

"Nothing."

Grayson rolled his eyes. "Everyone is talking about your poem-"

"Get fucked." I spit.

"Ethan, if you love her, you have to tell her."

I sigh as I scratch my chin. "You do realize in a few months she will be moving away and will be going to college."

He nodded. "And?"

"Bro, don't you see. This chick, this fucking girl is way too good for me. I won't get into college unless dad pays my way in, I haven't been focused enough in sports to get a scholarship. She has it all together. I bet three colleges are looking at her and are going to accept her. She's too good for me Gray, I fucked up."

"What about what she wants?"

"Fuck what she wants." I mumble. "It has to be this way."
