Part I
Hagami fled the area not long after. She had released the Six Paths of Pain too, a few minutes before she left. They kept their word, and they did not follow.
A week's time would pass agonizingly slow, and the chances of Sasuke not being to show up troubled Hagami too. There was also the slim chance that he'd be accompanied by Itachi and Shisui, Fugaku and Mikoto, and possibly the Hokage if things became too complicated. However, Hagami held her faith in Jiraiya; she trusted that he'd know what to say and seeing as though she was still a Rogue in all of their eyes, he shouldn't have a problem breaking the news.
Hagami's Mangekyō Sharingan had died down some time ago but she still felt the after effects. From the Tsukuyomi she caster over Kisame, the Amaterasu she used on the bullets fired from the Asura Path, and the Susanoo she used to protect herself and Jiraiya, she was exhausted and prayed she made it to the Old Uchiha Hideout in time. Recovery to Hagami wouldn't be much of an issue, it was finding new clothing to wear. She could of summoned some up through one of her scrolls, but she didn't have any.
I could just go into one of the nearby towns and use a Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Jutsu). Hagami thought feeling many chakra signatures clustered together in a single area. That'd be my best bet. It's too risky to have one of my crows go back there nor any of my Ninbyō. She mumbled. The scroll she received several years ago from Hiruzen turned out to be a summoning scroll her parents had. When she made a contract, her summoning then became Ninbyō, or ninja cats.
Hagami slowed her pace when she reached a ravine. Not far from here, maybe about a mile or two, lay a town that she often visited. They're used to her appearance there and have flown under the grid for some time since they served Akatsuki with weaponry and clothing; with the exchange of a bounty though Hagami would normally have her way easily. She decided that she didn't need to use any jutsu to bypass everything. She'd merely waltz into the area, and if anyone had a problem, she'd deal with it then and there.
An hour passed on her way to he town but when she finally entered it, everyone fell silent. People even began moving out of her way as she scouted out the clothing shop. Suddenly, someone walked up to her, and placed a hand on her shoulder. Hagami stopped in her tracks.
"Are you truly Hagami?" He asked in a deep voice. He was the person that ran this town and has kept it hidden for so many years.
"You tell me." She replied smoothly and her Mangekyō Sharingan appeared in her eyes. The man's hand slipped from her shoulder and he stumbled back. "Startled that I'm back finally?"
"The thing is, Hagami, we thought you've been dead." He responded. "Please, is there anything we can get you?"
"Clothing," Hagami paused. "Shuriken and kunai too, if you don't mind." She added and the man nodded when her Mangekyō Sharingan vanished.
"I-I'll be back with your supplies in a moment... May I have your ninja pouch and holster so I can stock up the weapons?" He asked and Hagami threw it to him. He scurried away afterwards and disappeared behind a corner. He still feared Hagami a little, after all, their first encounter almost costed him an arm of it weren't for Kisame stepping in.
He returned around fifteen minutes later with a bundle of clothes in one arm and her supplies in the other. Hagami took them almost blindly but managed to balance them. From what she could sense, there were no traps, not that anyone here would set any. Hagami could destroy this small town in an instant if she were serious.
"Arigato (Thank you)." She said bowing her head. Quickly, and quite ungracefully, she balanced her supplies on one arm and fished out some money she had picked up before the Asura Path caused her to blow open the wall. "Here, I don't have any more than that." Hagami admitted but before he could catch her, she leapt to a rooftop. "And don't push me for any more or...I'll destroy this town." She warned when someone drew a katana down below. Immediately, they backed off. All of them did and Hagami began on her way again to the Old Uchiha Hideout.
It took more than a day to get there, which left her with one less day to rest. But Hagami took the time in the abandoned territory to wash herself up and get set. Surprisingly, the man back at the obscure town threw in an extra set of clothes though they're the same as the outfit she now wore. A dark blue, kimono-style blouse with no sleeves that's held together by a thin black obi, the same color as her pants. Her shoes were the standard Akatsuki shoes she had been wearing-they weren't worn down as much as she originally thought.
I wonder if Jiraiya managed to make it back to Konohagakure. But as long as that toad was on his shoulder, he should be fine until he gets there. The amount of blood he's lost isn't much considering he stopped the bleeding by the time I bursted through that wall. Perhaps he's being treated right now by Tsunade. Hagami thought distantly. She walked into the main room of the hideout and stared at the "throne" where her ancestors sat. Hesitantly, she sat down on the throne and her tantō clinked against the stone.
Suddenly, after a few minutes of silence, the hissing of something snapped her out of her half-asleep state. She gazed down first, knowing that the sound was coming from a snake. Hagami reached down seemingly carelessly until her hand snapped around the neck of it. The white snake thrashed in her grasp and she looked up toward the door. She sensed two sources of chakra coming into the hideout.
"What're you doing her?" She asked as she snapped the snake's neck. "I don't remember disclosing this location." The two of them halted in their footsteps.
"We happened to be in the area, your chakra is so unique to us." Orochimaru's voice oozed against her ears. Hagami's eyes narrowed though the two of them were blurs against the dull background.
"Then what do you need?" Hagami threw the snake across the room. She also began to stand up and the two of them audibly backed up. "Well, Orochimaru? Speak up!" She ordered.
"Hagami, please give me a minute to ex-" Hagami took out a kunai and threw it straight into Kabuto's abdomen to silence him.
"I never asked you." She responded coolly. "Now, Orochimaru, speak up. I don't want to listen to the kid." She ordered.
"He's older than you, you know?" Orochimaru asked bemused by Hagami's accuracy when she hit Kabuto. They didn't think for a moment that she'd try to strike at either of them but Kabuto and Hagami had always been at odds.
"That doesn't matter to me. Now, I want to know why you've gone out of your way to see me here." Hagami muttered. She placed her hand on her hip but really she was just making sure she was close enough to grab her tantō if need be.
"That illness you have, Hagami, I've found a cure." Orochimaru's voice turned serious, and Hagami's eyes widened momentarily.
