Part II
As the world shattered around Sasuke, he was left panting. He fell to his knees seconds later, his eyes wide with disbelief. When he looked up to Hagami, she was still sitting patiently on the throne, her Sharingan just fading from her eyes.
"Genjutsu, your middle asset." Sasuke muttered out and touched the place where Hagami supposedly with her tantō. "I only caught a glimpse of your eyes for that Genjutsu to take place."
"You managed to shatter it." Hagami muttered out as well. "You used the pain within the Genjutsu to break out of it. I felt a change in your chakra flow, as if you made yourself think that you're the one stabbing yourself through your own heart. That's what broke you out, right?"
"Ah," Sasuke answered. "I turned your own jutsu against itself."
"That's a unique way to counteract it." Hagami admitted. "But my question remains the same, Sasuke. Which one is more important to you? The Village and your Clan...or me? The Village is relying on your victory here. If you lose, you've forced my hand to destroy Konohagakure. This is one promise that I will keep.
"So, what'll be? Will you fight? Become a savior and preserve peace? Or be unable to stop me now and die without meaning and let me lay waste to your home, your friends...and your family?" She asked seriously.
It took a second for Hagami's threat to register in his mind. He also took into consideration that she had the ability to kill now, as seen in the Genjutsu. He shot to his feet and leapt backward a meter or two, drawing a kunai.
"You wouldn't dare. I know you Hagami, you wouldn't lay a hand on Konohagakure!" Sasuke retorted against her.
"You say you know me, but how long has it taken for you to notice my goal?" Sasuke's eyes widened but he held his ground. "How much do you know about me?"
"Enough to know that you won't attack Konohagakure." Sasuke answered and he allowed his Sharingan to surface. His vision grew sharper but Hagami's eyes suddenly became crimson too. And then they became the Mangekyō Sharingan.
They stared into each other's eyes. Sizing each other again.
But Hagami was the one to make a move again. She took her tantō out, slashing at Sasuke before she darted out of the Old Uchiha Hideout. Sasuke's eyes widened but he followed anyway.
"Katon, Gōkakyū no Jutsu (Fire Style, Fireball Jutsu)!" She shouted when she made it outside the hideout. Sasuke stopped in his tracks but realized that the heat never reached him. He reluctantly opened his eyes only to see the barrier shattering around him. His eyes widened.
She chose this location. Hagami was only mile away from Konohagakure. Sasuke made his legs run as fast as possible to try to catch up to her but she was still too far ahead. Suddenly, a flock of crows surrounded Hagami, obscuring her from sight and then her very presence disappeared afterwards.
Sasuke's breathing sped up erratically and his eyes became suddenly clouded. He didn't take her seriously, thinking she was merciful only to realize she was ruthless with her words. Sasuke was also way too far behind to stop her now. The only thing he could do now was run to Konohagakure to make sure he made it in time to help.
It felt like an eternity to reach Konohagakure... Only there was almost nothing there. Sasuke came back to Konohagakure's demolished gates and then two people dead at the entrance. His footsteps became scrambled and he tripped on his way running. He slid against the ground on his shoulder but immediately pushed himself up onto his knees. Since the gates had been demolished already, he feared what he'd see inside.
