Before Hagami could dwell on the topic of finding a solution against the Jūbi, the crimson gleam everything had due to the barrier vanished and soon enough she found herself on the outside. Her hair was still falling around her when she realized that she was now standing slightly behind the Second Hokage. There was a look in his eyes as he looked over his shoulder at her.
"Madara is about to complete the Gedō, Rinne Tensei (Rinne Rebirth), and you're the only person I'm currently connected with outside the other Hokage present." Tobirama spoke in a rather rushed tone. "Do you see Madara up there on the peak?" He gave time for Hagami to turn around; when she turned back, she nodded. "We don't have the time, to reach Obito, so hold off Madara until we think of a viable plan."
"What?" Hagami managed. "No, I'm not strong enough to take on Madara. You're making a mistake. I can assist from the back lines, that's where I'm most helpful."
"You will listen to my orders. We need time. Whether you die doesn't matter to me, but what happens to the shinobi world does." Tobirama's voice grew cold and Hagami stiffened.
"Fine." Hagami responded and she turned heel. Her senses spiked, when she felt the Jūbi's strength returning and then suddenly become condensed. However, that was beside the point as she leapt up to the peak. She was crouched over, her hand on the ground as she landed in front of Madara.
Both of them were Uchiha.
Both of them were prodigies.
Now it was down to who was more intelligent, and who held their cards right.
"Madara...sama." Hagami couldn't help but allowing herself to use the honorific. She knew Madara held the power to kill her on the spot but he merely looked up. His eyes were cold, perhaps since he was dead or perhaps he was disappointed.
"Hagami...or rather the descendant of Kagami." He murmured quietly. "I've heard of your strength from Obito. He told me to be aware of your Taijutsu."
"He's not wrong." She forced past her lips as her muscles twitched with anxiety. Hagami kept a close eye on the golden aura currently surrounding Madara. She felt the artificial life beginning to leave him too whilst being replaced by legitimate chakra. Hagami got into a fighting position, her knees slightly bent with her left foot in front and her arms held out in a loose manner.
"How long do you plan to hold out?" Madara asked and he shifted to his feet.
"Not long, but they're orders." Hagami responded and she lurched forward. Madara traced her with his Rinnegan but Hagami's Mangekyō Sharingan kept up with him.
As she came to a halt, she crouched just below Madara's gunbai. The wind of it made her hair flicker about but she found the opening she needed and threw her right fist up.
She didn't expect to hit, and she didn't, as her force was redirected to the left. However, as she fell, her left hand went to the ground and her right foot swung up. Madara used the same arm to deflect her fist but this strike was more powerful and was enough to make him stagger a few inches.
Hagami retreated as soon as she could, staying in a crouched position in case she had to avoid a back-to-back attack.
Madara, contrary to what Hagami thought, merely stayed where he was. Hagami heard him set his gunbai down, the hilt in his hand and an amused look in his eyes.
"Just from that, I know you'll be a troublesome opponent if I allow you to live. But, with eyes that honed, and with only one no less, I'm impressed to say the least," Hagami distantly prided herself from what Madara had praised, "Perhaps I should take your eyes..."
The thought of this terrified Hagami momentarily but she calmed soon after. She already had a fail-safe; she'd destroy her eye upon death.
"Or rather, you could join me in this utopia I'm trying to create?" Madara questioned casually.
"No." Hagami answered in a voice just as casual. "I'll have to refuse."
"How unfortunate." Madara responded as he placed the gunbai in its sheath.
"Hmph." Hagami grunted, and she darted forward. Her Mangekyō Sharingan assisted her enough to duck underneath Madara's strike first but she knew that she'd have to feint next. She flew beneath Madara and rolled beneath him. Her hands touched the ground first and she pivoted at a surprising pace.
She turned around and stood up, all the while taking out a kunai. She flipped it in her hands a few times before coating it in chakra. Without so much as a broken seam, she threw it straight at the back of Madara's neck.
Hagami shot herself off the peak before Madara could throw it straight back at her. However, what he Madara failed to realize in the process of catching her kunai was the chakra that flowed through his body now.
Just as he released the kunai, his body stopped moving and Hagami felt herself being pulled apart. She was using the jutsu she would've been able to use if she had both eyes and was using the Mangekyō Sharingan, only this time she had to filter in her own chakra.
"I see..." Madara was still able to turn his head to Hagami even with her chakra's influence inhibiting most of his movements. "But it's far from what will stop me." His eyes narrowed at her and Hagami gasped as she felt a fist suddenly bury itself into her stomach.
Madara was standing by her shoulder, though his fist was still lodged into her stomach. Hagami coughed a few times when her legs threatened to give out. A few seconds later, though they felt like minutes, Hagami felt herself flying through the air and onto her back a couple meters away. She heaved to breath and knew that she had landed wrong on her ribs.
However, she quickly swung herself onto her feet and expected Madara to be standing over her. However, he was far from her and it took her a moment to locate him. She quickly found him amongst the others, though he wasn't exactly close to them either. In fact, she saw a bluish glow off in the distance and she knew then that he had confronted Madara before the former could reach Obito.
I've done my part-- Hagami was cut off when a person landed beside her. Tobirama was standing above her and he placed a hand on her shoulder. His eyes told her that he wasn't going to kill her, yet perhaps, and they teleported back to Obito.
It was here that Hagami felt the godly chakra that radiated from the Jūbi's Jinchūriki. She bit her lip, this worried her even more than Madara did.
"Where is Itachi and Shisui?" Sasuke was the first to ask her something.
"Somewhere," Hagami answered simply. "I'm not sure where they are, but I have a feeling they'll be here soon. They know when it'll be time to step in and help." Just as Hagami finished her sentence, two figures landed amidst them. One of them landed directly beside Hagami and the other landed slightly behind and in between Tobirama and Hagami.
