William's POV
"and the Winter Formal Queen and King is William Henry and Alexandra Leighton", the voice of the speaker said last night.
You wouldn't believe it. Would you.
I wanted for her to walk into the ballroom in the prettiest dress, and tell people I was her, as she was mine.
But that didn't happen.
Instead, I forced to dance with Anne.
I couldn't believe this is what my life turned out to be.I'm headmaster.
I'm rich.
I'm powerful.
Girls practically throw themselves at me.
But I'm miserable."Aye. You good bro?", Sean asked me.
I blanked out again. Didn't I.
I was in the cafeteria, probably talking about sports and then Alexandra popped into my head. And then I went to thinking about her."Yeah", I lied.
I wasn't. But I had to pretend that everything was okay. Like I was fine."No you're not. Your barely yourself. Your quiet. Your not even eating. What's wrong with you, dude?", He asked.
I was silent. Looking across the cafeteria to see Sophie and some of Alex's friends.
"It's Alex. Isn't it?", He asked.
I turned to him.
"Dude, she's just some girl", he said patting y shoulder, like that was supposed to make me feel any better, for treating her like shit over and over again."Isn't just some girl, okay. I lo-- he quickly cut me off.
"Woah.. Love her? Like how I love money. Love her?", He asked."Yes", I said.
"Seriously?", He asked."When I'm around her I get nervous. Without I'm miserable as hell, I haven't had a good night of sleep in weeks. I've been trying to distract myself to stop thinking about her but I can't. I don't know why... But I can't. I can't do anything right without her", I said.
"I don't think there's a word for that, dude", he said.
"Actually; there is. It's called love. I love her, okay? If your looking for a word that means caring about someone beyond all rationally and wanting them to have everything they want even if it destroys you... it's love. And when you love someone you just... you don't stop ever. Even if or when people call you crazy, you don't give up because if I could just give up & move on & fine someone else then it wouldn't be love. That would be something disposable thing that is not worth fighting for. Because love is never that", I just snapped at him.
"Chill. Bro. Chill out", he told me.
I scuffed. He doesn't understand, and probably will never.I got up walking against the cafeteria, to the table sitting Sophie.
"Where is she?", I asked.
"Who?", She asked playing dumb.
"Alex", I said."I don't know", she said.
"Please. I can't take this anymore. I need to see her", I said. The girls looked around as if they weren't telling me something.
"What? What is it?", I asked.
"Nothing", Sophie said.I looked around and the girls faces we're telling me different.
"Please.", I begged them.
"She didn't come back last night", Amber blurted out.
"Bitch", Sophie said.
"I'm sorry. I couldn't contain it. You know I'm not good with secrets", she said."What do you mean she didn't come back last night? Where could she possibly go?", I asked.
Alex's POV
"Aren't you worried that friends are going to be worried about you?", He asked as he was driving me back to my dorm.
"I miss one day of school. I'll be fine", I said.
"Last night was amazing", he said.
"What? Drinking and talking?", I asked.
