Chapter 71

Alexandra's POV

"Come on, Alexandra! Get in!", the voice of Amber shout after coming up to the top of the pool after she dived in.

The girls were having way much more fun then I expected. I mean they were in Italy.

"You're being a party pooper", Sophie pointed out. I rolled my eyes before answering.

"I can't. Gotta wait till after my doctors appointment, which is in a couple of minutes. So I'll see you girls later?", I asked.

"Totally", Sara said.
I grabbed my side bag walking from outside the patio and into the house. I walked towards the kitchen.

"Afternoon Ms.Leighton, would you like me to make you something to eat?", Bethany asked politely.

"No, thank you. I'll just take a water", I tell her nicely, as I heard footsteps approached behind me.

"The limo is ready, Ms.Leighton", Austin said.
I grabbed the bottled water from off the countertop, turning to him.

"I'll be out in a few. I gotta get something from my room", I tell him but he still continued to follow me.

I walked towards my room, noticing Matt walking out his room.

I slightly smiled, stopping in my footsteps.
"Heading out?", he asked.
"Doctors appointment, actually", I say.

"Have fun with that", he said.
"Thanks. I guess", I say about to walk past him when he stopped me.

"Wait. I actually wanted to talk to you about something", he said getting my attention.

"Austin, leave us. Please", I tell him.
"Ms.Leighton, Mr.Henry informed me to no— I cut him off, "it will only take a couple of minutes", I say.

Eventually he walked out of the hallway, and I walked into my room with Matt following me, as I shut the door.

"so what's up? Is everything okay?", I asked him completely forgetting what I had to get out my room in the first place.

"It's about will", he said.
I rolled my eyes.

"Did he put you up to this? Did he tell you to talk to me? When I see him I'm going to shove my foot so far up his— he cut me off before I cussed.

"No. William doesn't even know I'm in here", he says.

"Then— What is it?", I asked crossing my arms.

"I know my brother is a lot of things. A ass, A jerk— I cut him off, "don't forget lying ass slut", I say insulting him myself.

"That too. But one thing my brother isn't is a person who gives up. And clearly he doesn't want to give up. I mean not on you or his child", he says.

"What are you getting?", I asked not understand standing the point of this.

"I know you said you needed space but it's been three weeks", he said.

"So? He's lucky it wasn't a month", I say.

"You can't keep doing this. Not to him. William loves you, Alexandra. I have never seen him so happy in my life. All he does is talk about you and the child. And I know for a fact somewhere in that stubborn heart of yours, you love him.", he says.

"So?", I asked.

"So? So I know that you and him are going through it right now but whatever it is, it isn't worth losing your happiness & family over. And it most certainly isn't worth losing the one person you truly love over either", he said finally having a point.

I stood silent.

"You deserve happiness as much as he does, and your happiness is with him, and his is with you. So whatever your mad at, please just get over it. William doesn't deserve to have another family torn apart", he says.

"God knows he wouldn't be able to handle it either", he said.

Finally looking at it at Matt's point of view.
How what I was doing to William wasn't fair.

Suddenly, tears began forming in my eyes.
I inhaled and exhaled, "oh- I didn't... mean to make— I cut him off, "it okay. It's probably the hormones anyway", I say trying to wipe my tears.

"Are you sure?", he asked.
"Why am I crying?", I asked fanning my face.

He stood silent unsure how to answer.
"God. William- is so lucky to have a brother like you. Thank you. I needed to hear that. So thanks", I say hugging him.

Suddenly someone knocked on my door, and just enough time for me to let go of Matt, and for my to answer.

"Come in!", I shout.
The door opened.
We both looked up to see William.

His expression changed after seeing me with tears in my eyes.

"What did you do to her?", a very overprotective William asked Matt as approaching him.

"Nothing!", Matt exclaimed.
"Why is she crying? Alex? What happened?", he asked turning to me.

I approached him.
"Matt didn't do anything. I just— I felt like I needed to talk to someone, and Matt was the only one around. Okay?", I asked calming him down.

His eyes searching mine, I guess trying to figure out if I was telling the truth.

I broke eye contact.
"I'll be back. I'm gotta be late for my doctors appointment", I tell them both rushing out my room.

Footsteps followed behind me.
"Alexandra, wait?", William asked.

"Yeah?", I asked turning around after forcing a smile.

"Y-you forgot your bag", he says.
"Right. Can't forget that can I?", I say awkwardly grabbing the bag looking into his eyes.

And for some reason he didn't let go, he just stared at me causing me to swallow hard and make my breathing increase.

"What are we doing?", he breathed.
I shook my head, "I have no clue.", I tell him.

He looked as if he wanted to say something but we both were interrupted by Austin.

"Ms.Leighton", he said.
"I got to go", I say to William as he slowly let go of the bag, I turning around leaving the hallway with Austin.
