William's POV

I walked inside the house with so many questions to ask my mother.

What in the hell was Alexandra doing over here?
Why was there a bruise on her face?
Why was she getting arrested?

"Mother?", I asked with base in my voice, as I walked into the main office, as members of the council were talking with my mother.

"Oh god. William, you're home, and you brought Anne, how've you been sweetie? How was school?", she asked acting awfully nice all of a sudden.

"What was Alexandra doing here?", I asked because that was the only thing I could honestly think of or about this moment.

"Anne, Council Members— can you please excuse us, and give my son and I a moment to speak alone", she said in the softest voice.

As Anne, and the council members walked out the room, the door were slowly closed, leaving My mother and I.

"So?", I asked still waiting for an answer.
"She came here and disrespected me in front of the members of the council", she said.

"Is that really want happened?", I asked her.
I don't believe her.

"Honey, you know I would never lie to you", she said.

I chuckled, at her humor.
"It's better this way. She's out of your life for good. Now, you can focus on what's most important, gaining back the respect your father and Matt have gotten from OakHam. Anne will continue to be your girlfriend, and I will focus on getting back your headmasters position", she said.

"I don't want it back", I say.
"Don't be ridiculous. Now, I'll have Maria run you a bath, you have to start getting ready for tonight's dinner. The mayor has invited us to his home", she said not even listening to what I said.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"I'm not going", I said.
"What?", she asked.

"The only thing I have been doing is living your life, the life you wanted for Matt", I said.

"You see what she's doing to you? Before that American girl came along, the headmasters position was the most important thing to you.", she said.

"This has nothing to do with Alexandra and I", I said.

"This has everything do with her? She's taking you away from me. Can't you see that!", she shout.

"If anything mother, your the only one whose pushing me away, and when I leave, I'll never come back", I said.

"I forbid you to ever see her again, I mean it William, oh so god help me, you will force me to do things I never thought of doing", she said.

I blinked at her, did she just threatened me.
No. She threatened Alex.
I knew what my mother was capable of.
And hurting Alexandra was just what she wanted to do.

"Now, go get ready", she told me.
I inhaled deeply, and swallowed hard before exiting out the large room, I walked down the hallway, going towards my room.

Alexandra was right.
My mother controlled me.
Everything I do.
I say.

I entered my room closing the door to see Anne laying on my bed with lingerie on.
"You need to go", I told her.

"William, I knew your upset but I honestly believe you belong with me", she said.

"My mother told you to say that didn't she?", I asked.
She shook her head.
