Alexandra's POV

I smiled, passing William the ice wrapped in a cloth.

"How's your hand?", I asked him.
"Alright. How's your arm?", he asked.

"It's fine. I mean- I'm fine", I said looking down and tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Thanks, again", I said.
"Don't mention it. Besides that jackass deserved it. You shouldn't have to put up with his shit. I may not deserve you but I know for a fact neither does he", he said.

I slightly laughed.
"I was never with him", I said.
"What?", he asked.
"I mean— sure I had sex with him. But he never— actually was my boyfriend.", I said.

"Oh", he said.
"Yeah", I said.

"About that night. It was never supposed to go down like that— Anne and I. It just happened and it was the biggest mistake, I ever made... and I'm sorry", he said.

"No-no. We weren't together so there's nothing you have to be sorry about", I say turning away going into the kitchen, as he followed me.

"Yeah, but still", he said.
"But nothing William. You don't have to apologize. Whatever happened- happened. It's in the past.", I said.

Why was he trying to apologize for something that happened so long along.

"You hungry?", he asked me.

He read my damn mind.
"Starving, actually", I said.
"When are you not?", he asked joking.

"Uh", I smiled nudging him.
"There's this new restaurant that opened up downtown on 15th street, wanna check it out?", he asked.

"As long as there is burgers there", I said.
"Let's go", he said as I followed him out the kitchen.

-

"For a new restaurant; it seems to be hella packed. Are you sure you don't wanna go somewhere else. I mean we passed like 3 McDonald's on the way here", I said.

"We are already here. Come on.", he said getting out of his car.
I sighed, taking of my seat belt and getting out the car.

As we entered the restaurant, I noticed students from our high school there.

New, uh?
They all turned towards William and I, who got out the same car, walked in together, and was standing near each other like we were dating.

William walked ahead, leading the way to a open booth for us to sit at.

I sat down, sliding in, sitting across from William.
"New, Uh?", I asked.

"I guess everyone else knew it was new to", he said.
"I know what your trying to do. This— isn't a date", I told him.

"Sure. Totally not a date", he said sarcastically.
"We are just two good friends, ex lovers who are catching up over a good meal", I said.
