Growing up as a child I saw so many wonders,
Animals all around,
So I've learned to appreciate even the unique one,
While others admired butterflies I looked to dragonflies
Tiny creatures with 5000 species,
Some flying as fast as 50mph,
Intertwined wings that make them stronger,
Not to mention the ability to hover,
I don't know everything about this mystical creature,
But the simple beauty it has is breathtaking,
The mysteries that it hides are interesting to find,
Could you imagine they start in water
Small as a nymph,
And takes it's first breath in a shell,
Before breaking out of it to fly away,
Such wonder this magnificent creature has,
The dragonfly a candidate beauty amongst the norm.
