Broken Body

To fix something that's broken you often substitute parts,
Hoping that all of your tinkering suddenly make sparks,
Everything is in place and the magic will soon start,
Watching your hard work revert to it's previous arc

The days where everything functioned as it should,
You just hope for a little luck and you knock on wood,
Well a body is quite different you have to look under the hood,
To see what organs are damaged and see which ones are good

Like for instance a broken heart it can't be fixed with lines,
It can only be fixed with trust and patience over time,
It can only be fixed with love and the touch of one who's kind,
That can resurrect that feeling as it pumps blood that was drying

New life it's given with a purpose to rebuild itself,
With a magnitude of love given from someone else,
The mind is much different it's fragile it needs help,
From somebody of similar values not out for themself

You have to nurture that mind and disconnect the lies,
Provide the truths you hold no longer can it despise,
It has to have motivation, inspiration you know a drive,
So you can reignite that passion that will twinkle in the eyes

Only then can thoughts formulate their meaning,
Knowing the difference from real compared to convenience,
Knowing how to interpret what's false from when they mean it,
The part that's important to the visions that you're dreaming

The eyes are the last part that needs to be awoken,
For they peer into the soul of the person that you notice,
They can separate what's good from the bad if you focus,
It's critical that you use them if for love you are hoping

Because you have to see past disguises and masks of different kinds,
The outward appearance that seems to render you blind,
Not caring for what's beyond though you see the signs,
But you choose to open them up when you've run out of time

That's how you fix the parts of a person,
Only if they matter and you're down to put work in,
It's always hard work I know that for certain,
But to get the love you want you have to see through this curtain.
