Love is a lengthy process you have to let run its course,
Its not something that's progressing it's nothing that you can force,
You have to let it play out and ultimately take the choice,
To make it as great as it can be a pivotal part of your source,
Because love takes patience a keen sense of understanding,
It's something that has to grow you can become demanding,
You have to nurture your partner and protect their being from damage,
While giving all that you have is it something that you can manage
The patience to hold your tongue when you know you've done nothing wrong,
But your partner went through a storm and they're bringing that cloud home,
When you want a moment of solitude but they won't leave you alone,
You have to have patience to spill your heart yet still stay strong
Because patience goes hand and hand with this thing called love,
You have to talk through things it's nothing that you can shove,
People think love is about the many kisses and hugs,
But love is about patience that feeling of growing up
Knowing that who you're with is the better half of yourself,
That person that picks you over material even wealth,
That person that's by your side in sickness and in health,
But to love you that strong they had patience within themself.
