Growth

Life comes full circle,

When you have to watch the ones you've wronged,

Experience happiness you'll never feel,

But you still hold to the bonds

Knowing that irregardless of your choices,

Your heart was in the right place from the beginning,

Yet the space and distance you shared,

Never permitted an opportunity to explore deeper

To be in each other's presence,

To hold each other close,

It just let you feel love in a different place,

Better than what you currently have

Life how funny does it work,

When you hold on dearly to something,

Worthy yet not worth it in the end,

Because you have a tendency to lose it all

Having to start from scratch,

A blank canvas not knowing what to paint,

In utter disarray from the choices of your life,

No one to blame but yourself

So I accept it,

For if the mural I have now,

Was to suddenly fade away,

I'd know it was destined to fail from the moment we said hello

It's just the flaws of my life,

And the path I've been doomed to face,

Growing yet not fully reaching who I am,

Wasted potential of what a greater man could be

So until I find that inner strength,

To be better tomorrow than yesterday,

Life wins if I stay content in a cycle,

That never yields me true happiness and everlasting growth
