I was in the hall at my locker with the girls, they were grilling me on how I got my bag from the school if Angel never showed up. I hadn't told them that Nathan was the one that helped me, I didn't know if I wanted to. They would just make a big deal out of nothing and it was too early for that.

"Look, I'll tell you guys later okay? I have to get to class." I mumbled as the bell rang, shutting my locker and walking to class. I knew they would never let this go, so I decided to just tell them at lunch. I sat down in my usual seat in the back, and laid my head down. I hadn't got much sleep last night because I was on the phone with my mom's doctors making her appointments and refilling her medicine's. It was super stressful, having to explain everything to each doctor everytime she went away. She has to see a doctor every week and with her traveling a lot she doesn't have just one doctor, so I have to call and make the appointments and explain everything. It was really her assistants job, but I didn't trust anyone to do it right.

"Um, hello?" A voice said. I jumped and looked up to see Jason staring at me, eyebrows raised.

"What?" I asked, sitting up. He chuckled and sat down beside me. The teacher walked in just as the bell rang, signalling class was about to begin.

"So what had you up all night last night?" He winked, and I rolled my eyes getting my notebook out to take notes.

"You wouldn't want to know." I muttered, looking for a pencil but I couldn't find one. "Damn it" I cursed. Jason handed me one of his, and I thanked him.

"Okay class, for today's assignments.." I could barley understand what the teacher was saying because I was falling asleep every 5 minutes. Jason kept bumping me, trying to keep me awake but it didn't work.

"Katherine, wake up." I felt my body being shaken, and I jumped up quickly,  hitting my head on something hard.

"Fuck!" Nathan snapped, holding his head as well.

"What the hell?" I looked around the classroom confused, it was empty except for me and Nathan. "Where is everyone?" I asked

"Probably walking to their 2nd period, like you should be." He muttered, walking to the back and sitting down. My eyes widened as I realized I slept through the bell. I grabbed my things and quickly got up, heading out the door.

"There she is!" Jason chuckled as I walked into the cafeteria. I rolled my eyes at him, and walked towards him.

"Why didn't you wake me?" I demanded, and he only chuckled.

"I tried to like 5 times, but you wouldn't wake up and I didn't want to be late to class so..." he trailed off, trying not to laugh.

"So you just left me all alone, to be late to class?" I snapped, slapping his arm. He laughed and rubbed his arm.

"Hey, it's your fault for not sleeping last night. Were you up late talking to your boyfriend" he joked, grabbing his food and walking to his table.

"I don't have a boyfriend, idiot." I rolled my eyes, walking away from him and to my table where the girls were staring at me with excitement. My eyes widened and I turned to leave, but Amber grabbed my arm making me sit down.

"Why were you just talking to Jason?"

"Yeah, was he the one that got your bag?"

"Oh my god y'all are so cute!" They all kept throwing questions at me, not letting me talk.

"SHUT UP!" I yelled, causing everyone in the whole cafeteria to look my way. I blushed and looked away, the girls laughing at me.

"Nathan let me in the school to get my bag, and I was just asking Jason about the notes in class. Now stop asking questions and talk about something else. Nothing at all happened." I said, narrowing my eyes at Nat who looked like she wanted to say something. At the mention of me being with Nathan the girls glanced at Amber weirdly.

"What happened to you hating him?" Amber asked rudely.

"Hes not as bad as I thought." I shrugged, thinking about how he hasn't really been super rude to me lately.

"I honestly don't think you should be talking to Nathan." Amber said, "hes bad news. Also, he plays girls like he changes shoes, a lot."

"I think I'll be okay, and plus I don't like him like that." I said, she just rolled her eyes and stood up.

"I need to pee." She lied, before walking away. I watched as she walked towards Nathan and whispered something, before walking away. I looked at the other girls, about to ask what Amber was doing, but they looked away, stuffing their mouths with food. I looked back at Nathan's table to see him standing up, following after her. I got up and started to follow them as well.

"Kat don't!" Angel called out, but I ignored her, following after Amber and Nathan. They were in the hall, talking about something. I hid around the corner, trying to listen to their conversation.

"You're not my fucking boss." Nathan spat

"Don't talk to me like that!"

"Well don't talk to me at all."

"You know, there was a time when I was the only one you talked to." Amber said quietly, and I saw her step closer to him, a smirk on her face. I scoffed, and they both looked towards me. I quickly hid. Amber and Nathan used to be together? That's crazy.

"Yeah, and I wish I had never talked to you." I heard footsteps, and I quickly ran down the opposite hall, acting like I was looking for something.

"You shouldn't be spying on people." Someone said. I turned around to see Jason leaning against a locker, smirking at me.

"Neither should you." I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms. He chuckled and walked over to me.

"You're so..different." He wondered out loud, looking at every inch of my face.

"How so?" I asked, taking a step back.

"You don't run from me or Nathan, and you also don't beg for our attention like ever other girl in our school." He tilted his head to the side, studying me.

"I would never beg for anything." I said, before walking away as the bell rang and the hall became swamped with students.
